The Shelley Light Sculpture, by Jakob Uhlin for By Republiken
By By Republiken, Jakob Uhlin
Located in Grythyttan, SE
The Shelley Light, by Jakob Uhlin for By Republiken is artisanally made of recycled plastic. The triangular components constituting the pendant lamp create a captivating and faceted appearance, offering an intriguing visual impression. The lamp's three openings add a compelling three-dimensional aspect to its design. Light diffuses uniquely from various angles, providing a dynamic illumination experience. An inner shade, crafted from the same triangular building pieces, shields the light source. Our process involves collecting used household containers made of polypropylene plastics, commonly used for food containers. After thorough washing, a hand-driven punch is employed to meticulously cut out the triangular building pieces from these recycled plastic containers. This sustainable process gives new life to materials that would otherwise be discarded. Every lamp sculpture is unique because each one features different images on their inside. CUSTOMIZABLE If you’re interested in a variation or customization that is not currently listed, please inquire directly so we can discuss your specifications. Size, color and shape are variables that can be customized. The images displaying the smaller globular and pyramid shapes can give you an idea of the versatility of colors and shapes. BESPOKE We are open to designing and creating fully customized pieces. Please contact us if you'd like to learn more. The two images displaying black and gold light...

Mid-century modern pottery table lamp from Söholm, Denmark.
By Soholm Pottery
Located in Skarpnäck, SE
A very cute little vintage handmade ceramic stoneware lamp base made from Söholm, Denmark. This lamp is a classic, elegant and timeless lamp. The shape is rather unusual, wide base and slender neck, it has a contemporary feeling, yet it is the glazing that is making it so special, it has a brown and at times beige or sandy colour which gives a sophisticated look and this will be a centerpiece in any interior setting. It is 21cm (8.26") high including the lamp fitting and around 11cm (4.33") in diameter. The price includes FREE shipping. NOTE: It is has been newley rewired with an electrical plug suitable for Swedish and most of EU standard and it needs an E27 screw bulb and that the lamp is in an excellent condition. Lamp shades are not included. Søholm Keramik (Ceramics); art pottery of world standard. Danish pottery is famous world-wide due to the high quality and artistry one of the best-known companies is Søholm. Design based upon form and functionality with groundbreaking glazing technique best sums up, why they are among of the world leading firms when it comes to mid-century modern pottery design. Daniel Andersen one of the two brothers who modernised the company headed the design/art departments and developed a glaze technique which was reminiscent of one found on ancient Persian pottery. The result of this work was shown in Brussels at the World Exhibition of 1935. The glaze was well received and was awarded a gold medal. Following this success, the technique become a signature glaze known as “Persia glaze” of Michael Andersen and Sons...
