Monumental Triptych Oil on Canvas Panels Of New Orleans French Quarter Houses
Located in Dallas, TX
PRESENTING a simply beautiful, monumental and imposing original work of contemporary art, namely, a Triptych oil on canvas panels of New Orleans Colonial/French Quarter Houses. Unsigned and undated, but most definitely inspired by the World Renowned New Orleans artist, James Michalopoulos. These were not painted by Michalopoulos, but were clearly inspired by him and his famous depictions of ‘wavey’ New Orleans houses. Also, they were created and painted in New Orleans, contemporaneously to when Michalopoulos was starting to become recognized, in the New Orleans (and greater) artworld. The 3 panels work perfectly together as a visual feast and ‘connected’ work of art. The panel on the left features a wavy blue, grey and yellow, French Quarter style 2 Story Wooden house, complete with Corinthian Style Columns, decks, railings, storm shuttered windows, etc. It has a deep blue sky with shimmering light reflections. The garden to the front, has steps leading to the house and has shrubs and flowers, that are continued into the 2nd or middle/center panel. The middle or center panel incorporates the other side of the garden plants etc for continuity and it features a single story pink, yellow and white wavy French Quarter style house, with fabulous decor and complete with decks, railings, storm shuttered windows, etc. It has a deep blue sky with shimmering light reflections and a white moon, emitting swirling patterns of light. The garden to the front, has steps leading to the house and has shrubs and flowers, that are continued into the 3rd or right panel. The right panel, features a wavy light...

Paresh Maity Watercolor on Board, Encounter I
Located in Dallas, TX
Presenting a glorious contemporary piece of Art by a recognized Indian Master – Paresh Maity Watercolor on Board – Encounter I. This piece has impeccable Provenance! It was purchased by a Private Dallas Collector at Sotheby’s New York Auction on 18th September 2008. Lot No. 74. Sotheby’s operate a twice yearly auction of Southeast Asian Art & Antiquities in New York in the months of March and September. This sale was titled “Modern & Contemporary Indian Art”. The Lot consisted of a Group of 3 Watercolors by Babu Xavier, Paresh Maity and Ranjit Kurmi. (b.1960, b.1965, b.1970) Three Untitled Works. Signed and dated ‘Paresh Maity ’02 lower right, watercolor and ink on paper. …. 5.6 x 3.6 (14 x 9 cm)”. Exhibited: Herbert F. The 3 watercolors carried an Auction estimate of USD 3,000 to USD 4,000 and Sold for USD 4,000 (not including Buyers Premium). Allowing for inflation alone this would be over $7,000 in today’s value. We have this watercolor by Paresh Maity and (listed separately) the Babu Xavier watercolor, but not the Ranjit Kurmi watercolor. As an added bonus and proof of authenticity the painting still retains it’s original Sotheby’s Lot No. Label. It has substantially increased in value over the years as a HIGHLY DESIRABLE piece from an exhibited and highly collected Modern Indian Master painter. We also possess the Babu Xavier watercolor in our Collection! Paresh Maity (born 1965) is an Indian painter...

John Link "Gator Gait" Acrylic on Canvas, dtd 1986
Located in Dallas, TX
John Link (d. 2021) worked as a professor of art at Western Michigan University. From the artisit: "When I was in philosophy, my fellow grad students agreed that we were in philosophy because we couldn’t do anything else. But the same can be said of art. My problem with philosophy was that it requires you to stay still to read, and that bothered me a lot. I also found art to be the antithesis of philosophy. I was told I should study all the great aestheticians because I made a lot of paintings. I told the department head that those people were talking about something other than making art. I did not exactly know what, but art has a kinaesthetic element, both mental and physical, that philosophy does not. Nor is art all that contemplative. You must work your way through a murky soup of possibilities, and all that stuff. Then I flunked the draft physical and did not have to stay in philosophy, so I started taking art classes. Philosophy, understood as wonderment, is a good place to begin, certainly. English was my worst subject in high school and grade school, math and science my best. When I went to college I was supposed to be an engineer. But I took up English because I thought college was a place where you worked on your weaknesses. Actually have a double BA in Philosophy and English. So that’s how I got going, reading great writers...
