BIO
Tony Bennett is known as a vocal musician, but he is also known as Anthony Dominick Benedetto, an American visual artist. Benedetto was born August 3, 1926. He is the son of Italian immigrants from the Astoria section of Queens, New York. At the age of five Anthony was drawing pictures. He attended public schools and The High School of Industrial Arts in Manhattan where he studied art and music. Art was his first passion. In the 19th century artists like Vincent van Gogh searched for an expressive balance in art and music, but Benedetto/Bennett makes an impressive balance in both forms of artistry.
The family name Benedetto means, "Blessed one", and Benedetto is how his art is signed. His paintings are impressions of the beauty throughout the world from his many music tours and travels...

Artist Statement
"I started by painting interiors, being interested in space and perspective through my studies. These scenes evolved, when I added the human figure. I focused more on the human figure and its relation to the background. The human figure is more present than ever in my paintings now.
As a woman artist I’ve been preoccupied with the female form and its imagery. One of my goals was to capture the solitary moments and the nude’s relation to the surrounding space.
My interest turned from depicting the space to rendering the atmosphere and the scene as a whole, the feeling a woman adds to the environment: warmth, desire, joy, a feeling of power and control, or the opposite – sadness, despair.
Here is a collection of figurative paintings, exploring the nudes in interior spaces, seeing the nudes from my perspective, as a woman artist, considering the physical and spiritual realities of a woman’s body, in a new level of intimacy. About the artist:
Jean Monneret, born November 27, 1922 in Chalon-sur-Saône, is one of the best known painters of the School of Paris after the war. He is founding president of the Federation of Fairs historic Grand Palais. From 1944 to 1949, Jean Monneret is a student at the Ecole Nationale Superieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris, in the studio of Jean Dupas after preparation to the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Lille. At the same time, it passes the support of education in fine arts high schools. As a teacher, as well as course director Montmartre (1960-1975), that when he became professor of fine arts and art history at the National School of Applied Arts in Paris (1974 - 1988), it maintains the study of drawing as many teachers are no longer able to teach it or waive it. His painting, figurative, with a graphic black outlines to very expressive part of a modern context. Present in most rooms with paint, and very representative of the spirit of freedom of the painters, it is duly elected president of the Salon des Independants from 1977 to 2001. William A. Corbett began drawing at an early age. He constructed signs and displays for theaters and nightclubs around Pittsburg. He studied art with Vincent Nesbert at the Pittsburg Art Institute and with Robert Gwathmoy, Roy Hilton, and Robert Laper at the Carnegie Institute of Technology. He also studied painting and sculpture at the Louisville Art Center. Corbett was in the Army Engineers at Fort Knox, Kentucky where he studied, practiced, and had exhibits with army artists there from 1941-1943. He was very much interested in materials and technique, content and style in painting. His favorite Artists were El Greco, Leonardo, Rembrandt, Renoir, Burchfield, and Andrew Wyeth, Jr. He studied two years at Boston museum School with Karl Zerbe, Daivid Aronson and others. He later designed and did art work for General Outdoor Advertising Co. In 1943, he married Ruth Osborne of Louisville and they had one son, Michael. In 1951 he moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida with his family.
