The Tree of Life stands symbolic in the background, its branches reaching skyward in a silent testament to our interconnectedness with the world around us. The flora and fauna, depicted in a primitive style with traditional folk ornaments, burst with vibrancy, representing the earth's raw beauty and the cultural tapestry that weaves through our daily lives.
Upon the woman's shoulder, an ancient Kyivan Rus’ diamond ornament signifies the union of the sun and earth, a symbol of fertility and the cycle of life. This emblem, steeped in tradition, is a nod to the deep-rooted beliefs that ground us and remind us of our place within the natural world.
This painting, from my ongoing exploration into the essence of femininity and its role within the cycle of life, reflects a deep appreciation for our ancestral heritage. The ancient symbols etched upon her shoulder speak of "spirit," hinting at the unseen energy that animates us all, even in our most restful moments. This slumbering form is a sanctuary of peace, her dreams a hidden realm where the spirit roams free.
Above her, the apple branches bow gently, a nod to the biblical Eve's apple, symbolizing knowledge, temptation, and the duality of innocence and awareness. It is a fruit laden with the weight of history, yet here it is presented anew, in a light untainted by the past's shadows.

Andrzej Malinowski was born in Warsaw, Poland in 1947. He worked as artist, painter, graphic designer, illustrator, and poster creator. He resides and works in France.
In his youth, Andrzej Malinowski drew inspiration from the works of Vermeer and Rembrandt. In 1973, he graduated from the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts in the Illustration Department. After obtaining his diploma, he moved to Paris, where he continues to live and create. In 1982, he was granted French citizenship.
During the initial period of his stay in France, Malinowski was engaged in artistic direction, creating audiovisual presentations, television programs, graphics, illustrations, and posters. During this time, he won awards in the field of posters and illustrations. In 1977, he received the First Prize for the poster for the film The Exorcist at the Deauville Film Festival, as reported, among others, by French newspaper Le Parisien.

Patricia Gren Hayes (American, b. 1932) is a Bay Area Figurative & Feminist Art Movement artist who studied at Winnipeg Public Art School in 1950. She received early recognition in Museum and Gallery competitions and exhibitions and was awarded a Special Education in Art recognition by the Winnipeg Museum of Fine Art, and was awarded a scholarship to the Banff College of Fine Art. Further studies were at The University of Manitoba.
She was a Member of Winnipeg Free Press Sketch Club and was a Cartoonist and paste-up for a French-English bi-weekly, in Eastern Canada;
She studied outdoor impressionism in New York in 1960; in 1962, attended The California College of Arts and Crafts, and in 1976 B.A., U.C. Berkeley where she studied under Elmer Bischoff, David Simpson, Joan Brown, Felix Ruvolo, Yolanda Lopez and Vincent Perez.
She started a freelance commercial art business in 1963; copyrighted a National Cartoon, 1976, and served as Exhibition Director for San Francisco Woman Artists Gallery and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, 1976-1978. She was a workshop instructor at the San Francisco Woman Artists Gallery, 1977-1985; and was Manager/Owner Stanton Art Gallery, Alameda, CA, 1976-1982.
