Clouds in Pond – Erik Madigan Heck, Landscape, Color, Lake, Nature, Art
Located in Zurich, CH
Erik MADIGAN HECK (*1983, United States) Clouds in Pond, 2019 Chomogenic print Sheet 152.4 x 101.6 cm (60 x 40 in.) Edition of 9 plus 2 artist's proofs (#2/9) print only Originally from Excelsior, Minnesota, Erik Madigan Heck (*1983) is one of the youngest and most promising American fashion photographers of the contemporary art scene. In his relatively short career the artist developed a personal way of looking at fashion, as Nathalie Herschdorfer underlines in her essay "Minimal and pure: Erik Madigan Heck fashion photographs". His work is characterized by a clear and distinctive treatment of colours and patterns, which makes it unequivocal. "Heck’s photographs push the concept to new limits, creating imagery that goes beyond traditional fashion photography. Meticulously constructed and enhanced with bright colours, blurring the line between the clothes and the background, his images play with this idea of ‘future’ silhouettes". – Nathalie Herschdorfer In 2017 Heck published his first monograph with Thames & Hudson and Abrams Books titled 'Old Future'. In his 'Old Future' series Madigan Heck explores the intersection of photography and painting as he borrows from and bends the genres of fashion photography, landscape painting and portraiture. Madigan Heck is a regular contributor to The New York Times...

Bob Tabor is a well-established, New York based, photographer best known for his exquisite large scaled portraits of subjects ranging from horses to seascapes. It is his unique approach and sensitive insight that allows Bob to not only capture the energy of his subjects but to also create a visceral, intimate experience for the viewer. His distinctive style is globally recognized as his work has been displayed in multiple Ralph Lauren storefronts across 4 different continents and has earned him a spot at many prestigious private art collections and galleries worldwide. His artistic accomplishments have also earned him the Clio Award along with extensive press coverage in publications such as Traditional Home, The Telegraph, The Guardian and more. While Bob is best known for his large equestrian portraits, his newest venture involves a subject that is as equally sentimental to him, seascapes. The ocean itself is of particular interest to Bob because of the consistency it has had throughout his life. From his childhood years spent at Rockaway Beach...

The ocean itself is of particular interest to Bob because of the consistency it has had throughout his life. From his childhood years spent at Rockaway Beach to his new lifestyle in the Hamptons, the sea’s constant surroundings have sparked an inquisitive, yet delightful fascination that the artist cannot ignore. With that said, Bob’s new series titled “Day and Night”, plays on this fascination as he is able to capture, what he believes to be, the rebirthing energy incorporated in the ocean’s waves. As Bob sees it, each sweeping motion of the wave’s swell exudes energy that is capable of both erasing the previous while also creating a new. Each photograph captured is taken during the “quieter and or off times” of our daily 24 hour time period. This involved Bob sitting on the beach...

Surfer, Perth, WA - Ocean Series (Larger size)
Located in New York City, NY
“These works present my abiding interest in the thresholds that divide and connect the sea to land. I am fascinated with the quality of light and the spatial immensity of the ocean. I have enormous reverence for feeling so small in the presence of something so vast, where perspective, scale, time and distance momentarily become intangible. Photographing as a process of clarifying this quality, I work towards creating formalized, liminal spaces. The glory lies not in this act of clarification or reduction, but in the experience of what is left – sublime experience located in ordinary space: a slowly moving...

By hanging out of a helicopter hovering 300 feet in the air, Antoine Rose uniquely captures the Hamptons from a sharp 90 degree angle. This piece is a snapshot of shared beach activities that features colorful accessories and gorgeous blue-green water as it crashes on the shore. Antoine Rose’s love for the sea led him to become official photographer of the Kitesurfing World Cup in 2002 for several consecutive years. Rose admits, “Shooting from helicopters, all doors removed, 300 feet above earth at 20 knots and getting images that can be printed as large as 120 inches is quite a challenge. What’s difficult is to mix all the tasks in real time: guiding the pilot, having the right lens, being sure the camera settings are setup properly, concentrating on the light, the subject, the framing, discussing with the tower control to get clearance…” Rose continued to travel around the globe from South Africa to Istanbul, converting ordinary scenes into magnificent pieces of art – whether they be the shorelines of Miami and Hampton Beach “Up in the Air” or the mountaintops of Switzerland “Jeux D’Hiver”. In Rose’s most recent collection “Dawn to Dusk,” illuminated cityscapes of the Manhattan skyline are captured beneath darkness. Thus, oblige viewers to a closer look, distinguishing the artist’s pictorial subject from its aerial veneer; brilliant skyscrapers manifest embellished microchips against an unlit backdrop. keywords: beach, human, bird-eye view, sky, new york city, interior design, decoration, city view, snow, ski, up in the air, helicopter, blue, white, brown, yellow, colorful, vacation.
