The artwork is in excellent condition. Certificate of authenticity issued by Gallery Art included. All reasonable offers will be considered.
In Cowboys and Indians, Warhol interspersed recognizable portraits of well-known American heroes with less familiar Native American images and motifs. It demonstrates his ironic commentary on America’s collective mythologizing of the historic West. Rather than portraying Native Americans within their historical landscape, Warhol chose to portray a romanticized version of the American West. The West that he chose to represent is familiar to everyone and can be seen in novels, films, and television series. Warhol’s Cowboys and Indians suite...

Mothers Joy III, also called Maternal Delight III
By Anders Zorn
Located in Stockholm, SE
Maternal Delight III, or Mothers Joy III, (In Swedish Modersglädje III) by Anders Zorn depicting a young woman lovingly playing with her child. A small amusing detail is the small child face visible on the lower left side, just outside the oval. This is an extremely rare etching and is one of two or possibly three known in existence of a so called cancellation proof. A cancellation proof etching of the Maternal Delight III is in the Boston Public Library Collection, USA.
Signed Zorn in the plate. When Zorn decided that the vey limited number of prints were all done he took his burin, (the steel cutting tool used in engraving also, back in history, called graver), and made cross hatched lines across the figures on the original plate, after which he made a couple of after proofs or cancellation proofs and the present etching is one of them. This gives the present work a special and interesting image of one of Zorns best and rarest etchings. Created in London 1883, the first year he made etchings.
Etching 276 x 406mm

Anders Zorn (1860-1920) was a Swedish artist who attained international success as a painter, sculptor, and etching artist. He was to become one of Swedens foremost artists ever. No technique was foreign to him, he worked equally well with watercolors, wash technique or oil painting. The etching technique also attracted this virtuoso and the etchings contributed greatly to his success.
Between 1875 to 1880, Zorn studied at the Royal Swedish Academy of Arts in Stockholm, where he amazed his teachers with his talent. Members of the Stockholm Society approached him with commissions. In early 1881, Zorn met Emma Lamm, whose background was quite different from his. Emma Lamm was from a wealthy Jewish merchant family. She was interested in art and culture and, after a long engagement, they were married in 1885.
During the 1880s Zorn traveled extensively, to London, Paris, the Balkans, Spain, Italy, and the United States. In the 1890s when he was in Paris, he spent much time with Albert Edelfelt. He quickly became an international success and one of the most highly regarded painters of his era. In the beginning of Zorns career, it was primarily his skill as a portrait painter that gained him international acclaim, based principally upon his incisive ability to depict the individual character of his model, he came to portray many great people including three American Presidents: Grover Cleveland, William H. Taft, and Theodore Roosevelt.
Zorn also depicted Swedish dignitaries, for example King Oscar II in 1898, King Gustaf V in 1909, Queen Sophia in 1909, Prince Eugen in 1891, fellow artist Carl Larsson in 1897 and August Strindberg in 1910.
In the late 1880s, Zorn began working in the genre that is probably his hallmark for the general public, nude studies in the open air. Zorn had long been fascinated by the movements of water and the reflections of light on the water surface. Now Zorn chose to place a nude model by or in the water, with the aim of depicting people in nature.
When Zorn started the art of etching, he developed a technique with Rembrandt as a model, where he built up the motif with bursts of lines. The first etching was created in London in 1883, the same year as our Maternal Delight. Axel Herman Hägg, then active in London, was Zorn's teacher in this special technique. Hägg was the person Zorn depicted in his first etching. Zorn quickly mastered the etching technique itself and a unanimous art expert was able to conclude early on that Rembrandt had now found his equal.
At the age of 29, he was made a Chevalier de la Légion d'honneur at the Exposition Universelle 1889 Paris World Fair.
Zorn's reputation as an etcher spread across the world. Soon he could find his etchings in the major world metropolises in Europe and the USA. Zorn produced 289 different etchings, including portraits, genre studies and nude studies.
The motifs on Anders Zorn's graphic sheets are most often based on his own paintings, as ours, which is based on a watercolor he made in 1882 on his first trip to Spain. Even during Zorn's lifetime, his etchings were considered to be artistically superior to his paintings. As a result, his graphics quickly became sought after on the international art market. He was compared to Rembrandt, who as mentioned earlier was Zorn's great role model in the art of etching. Zorn was able to combine the old technique with his personal form of impressionism and the temporary and everyday with the universal. On the printing plates, one can study his outstanding etching technique, his characteristic play with parallel lines drawn in different directions, with varying degrees of force and intensity.
Zorn's art made him wealthy and he was thus able to build up a considerable collection of art. In their joint will, Anders and Emma Zorn donated their entire holdings to the Swedish State.
Some of his most important works can be seen at the National Museum of Fine Arts in Stockholm. Other museums holding major works by Zorn include the Musée d'Orsay in Paris, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. The Zorn Collections located in Mora and Garberg, Älvdalen, consist of four museums dedicated to the life and works of Anders Zorn. Shown there are extensive works of Zorn and his collected art.
The Bellman Prize (Bellmanpriset) is a literature prize for "an outstanding Swedish poet", every year awarded by the Swedish Academy. The prize was established by Anders Zorn and his wife Emma in 1920.
The motif: The present etching is based on a central and important work from Zorns first important trip to Spain, 1881-1882. After visiting Madrid and Seville, Zorn set off for Cádiz, tempted by the sea and the city’s women who were reputed to be the most beautiful in all of Spain.

Sir. John Powell, Knight: Early 18th C. Engraved Portrait After William Sherwin
Located in Alamo, CA
This is an early 18th century portrait of Sir John Powell entitled "The Honorable Sr. John Powell, Knight. one of the Justices of her Majesties' Court of Common Pleas. Ano. D 1711". It was engraved and published by John King in London in 1711, after an earlier work by William Sherwin. The engraving depicts a bust length portrait of Powell wearing an elaborate fir-trimmed robe and collar. The portrait is encompassed in an ornate oval frame, sitting on a pedestal with an impressive coat-of-arms below.
This engraved portrait is printed on laid, chain-linked watermarked cream-colored paper The sheet measures 15.25" high and 11.38" wide. It is adhered to an archival thick card at the upper corners, There is a 1/8" tear at the lower edge of the sheet, but the print is otherwise in very good condition. This engraving is held by museums and institutions, including the British Museum and the Harvard University Art Museum.
Sir John Powell (1632-1696) was an English lawyer and judge who served as a justice of the King's Bench from 1683 until his death. He was born in Glamorganshire, Wales, and studied at Jesus College, Oxford, before being called to the bar at the Middle Temple in 1656. Powell was known for his staunch support of the monarchy and the Church of England, and he played a prominent role in the trial of the Whig leader Lord William Russell in 1683, which resulted in Russell's execution for his alleged involvement in a plot to assassinate King Charles II. Powell was also involved in the trials of several other prominent Whig politicians, including Algernon Sidney and Titus Oates. In addition to his work as a judge, Powell was also a member of Parliament for various constituencies throughout his career, and he served as Solicitor General and Attorney General for Wales under King James II. However, he opposed James's efforts to promote Catholicism and supported the Glorious Revolution of 1688, which led to James's overthrow and the installation of William and Mary as joint monarchs.
Powell was known for his intellectual rigor and his legal expertise, and he authored several influential legal treatises during his lifetime. He was widely respected by his peers and by the legal community as a whole, and his legacy as a jurist and judge continues to be celebrated today.
William Sherwin (1645-1709) was an English engraver who worked during the late 17th and early 18th centuries. He was born in Chesterfield, Derbyshire, and is known for his high-quality engravings of various subjects, including portraits, landscapes, and architectural views. Sherwin was trained as an engraver and worked as an apprentice to the renowned engraver Robert White. After completing his training, he went on to establish his own studio in London, where he produced a significant body of work over the course of his career. One of Sherwin's most famous works is his engraving of the portrait of John Locke...

William Merritt Chase (1840-2016)
Born in Nineveh, Indiana Died New York, New York
In 1883 Chase was involved in the organization of an exhibition to help raise funds for a pedestal for the Statute of Liberty. The exhibition featured loans of three works by Manet and urban scenes by the Italian Impressionist Giuseppe de Nittis. Both artists influenced Chase's Impressionistic style that gave rise to a series of New York park scenes. It is also thought that he was influenced by John Singer Sargent's In the Luxembourg Gardens (1879) which was exhibited in New York at this time. Indeed, Chase had met Sargent in Europe in 1881, the two men becoming lifelong friends with Sargent painting Chase's portrait in 1902.
On another European trip in 1885, Chase met James McNeill Whistler in London. While Whistler had a reputation for being difficult, the two artists got along famously and agreed to paint one another's portrait. Eventually, however, Whistler's moods began to grate with Chase who wrote home stating "I really begin to feel that I never will get away from here". For his part, Whistler criticized Chase's finished portrait and, according to Hirshler, "complained about Chase for the rest of his life". While no record exists of Whistler's portrait of Chase; Chase's portrait of Whistler remains a well-known piece in his oeuvre.
In 1887 Chase married Alice Gerson, the daughter of the manager of a lithography company. Though some fifteen years his junior (Chase was 37), he had known Alice for some time through her family's devotion to the arts. The pair, who would enjoy a happy marriage with Alice in full support of her husband's career, settled initially in Brooklyn...

Offset Lithograph poster from this European exhibition
39 2/5 × 27 3/5 inches
Unframed and unsigned
About The Cleaner project - courtesy of the Louisiana Museum
Marina Abramović has inscribed herself in the history of art as one of the pioneers of body and performance art, and since the 1970s – with her own body and energy as her primary material – she has developed one of contemporary art’s most radical and uncompromising practices.
Abramović is best known for physically and mentally demanding performance works that are often transgressive and revolve around the body, gender, energy, time, pain, presence, and identity. Her performances range from powerful, violent, and risky actions to quieter exchanges of energy and meetings with the audience. And especially in recent years, we the audience have increasingly become key players in her works.
The exhibition at Louisiana comprised more than 100 works and spans more than five decades – from early concept sketches, paintings and sound works to presentations of the artist’s performances – including her collaboration with former partner Ulay. Reperformances of an early work formed part of the exhibition as well.
Marina Abramović – The Cleaner was developed in dialogue with the artist and organized by Moderna Museet, Stockholm, in collaboration with Louisiana Museum of Modern Art, Henie Onstad Kunstsenter and Bundeskunsthalle, Bonn.

Herman N. Hyneman (1849 - 1907) was born in 1849 to one of the most prominent Jewish families in Philadelphia. Unlike most Jewish families of the time, his embraced and encouraged his artistic talent. In 1874, Hyneman followed his first cousin Moses Ezekiel, National Academy member, to Europe to study. They first went to Germany and then to France where Hyneman began eight years of study with Leon Bonnat, the French Master.

Toyota Grand Prix Long Beach original racing poster
Located in Spokane, WA
Rare, large format poster for the 2011, Toyota Grand Prix of Long Beach, California. This very rare racing poster is for the 2011 race. The event poster, such as this image was not available to the public for purchase.
The artist name may be hidden inside the design, but we believe the artwork to be done by Jeff Foster.
The image was printed to give an antique feel with old edges and distress marks, but the poster is in mint condition. It features a driver looking through his helmet as he is racing, with a reflection of a palm tree and the starting flag reflection back on the face shield. The poster has no defects.
The Long Beach Grand Prix is the longest-running major street race held in North America. It started in 1975 as a Formula 5000 race and became a Formula One event in 1976.
