About the Item

"ASARABACA" is an abstract Post-War industrial weight aluminum sculpture created by John Chamberlain in 1973. The sculpture is 20 x 23 x 22 inches and weighs less than 50 lbs. Chamberlain forged a distinctive art style characterized by his pioneering use of crushed and twisted automobile parts. Through his innovative approach, Chamberlain transcends the traditional boundaries of sculpture, transforming discarded industrial materials into vibrant, textured artworks that challenge perceptions of space and form. By manipulating and contorting metal parts, he created compositions that appeared to be in a state of perpetual motion, capturing a sense of vitality and spontaneity.
