Enthroned Madonna and Child.
Located in PARIS, FR
Large Virgin and Child in carved wood, carved back. Sitting on a throne bench, Mary carries Christ seated on her left knee. The Virgin has a face with stylized features with semicircular eyebrow arches, almond-shaped eyes with protruding eyeballs. Marie is wearing a belted dress with a simple neckline and a coat with a flap that goes back to the front. Tiny traces of polychromy. Romanesque influences are still present. With her protruding eyes, she can also be compared to the statuary of Lake Constance. Our Virgin, rare for its size, nevertheless presents strong analogies with the Italian Sedes Sapientiae...

Dance Within - Wear Only Sky
Located in Loveland, CO
Dance Within, Wear Only Sky by Denny Haskew Set of 2, Bronze with Stainless Steel, Figures dancing in rings, gold and silver representing yin/yang, masculine/feminine, sun/moon female: 20x18x11" ed/21 male: 22x19x12" ed/21 "Just as the ancients danced to call upon the spirits in nature, we too can dance to find the spirits within ourselves that have long been buried and forgotten." - Anna Halprin ABOUT THE ARTIST: Denny Haskew currently resides in Loveland, Colorado where he is actively engaged in the art industry as a sculptor. He received his degree from the University of Utah, then served two years in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. Having spent numerous years as a guide and ski instructor, Denny has learned to love the rivers and mountains of the western states of Arizona, Colorado, Idaho, Oregon, and Utah. After moving to Loveland, a hub of successful working sculptors, he wasted no time in getting monumental sculpture experience through working with renowned sculptors including Fritz White and Kent Ullberg N.A. Since 1987, Denny has created and placed dozens of monumental compositions; spanning the full spectrum of the figurative genre. As a member of the Potawatomi Citizen Nation, it is only natural for his artwork to follow the Native American culture. His art has not been limited to Native American and southwestern subjects, however, as he frequently explores abstract forms placing emphasis on the qualities of the metal and stone used. As a Charter member of the National Sculptors' Guild and being close to other sculptors and the Loveland area foundries has helped him to master all the foundry processes involved in producing a desirable and lasting monumental bronze sculpture. Over 50 major public placements include the Smithsonian Institution, DC.; the Gilcrease Museum, OK; Cerritos, CA; Little Rock, AR; the Shakopee Mdewakanton Dakota Sioux collection, MN, and the Barona Band of Mission Indians...

Wall Sculpture, Two Animal Heads: 'Gruff'
Located in New York, NY
'I am a multidisciplinary artist with a focus on ecofeminism using fiber and mixed media constructions. My materials include hand-dyed commercially fished line and ghost gear, recycled and antique textiles, fabric printed with cyanotype emulsions and found objects. I change the existing surface of recognizable animals by creating a veneer of unexpected color and imagery. This forces the viewer to consider the shape more carefully by visually exploring its new topography. The creation process can be likened to painting with fiber (that has been tinted with hand-mixed dyes) on a three-dimensional canvas. Intense work is spent creating the eyes and ears to convey the emotion of each animal. I look to the work of Joan Mitchell and The Quilters of Gee’s Bend as inspiration for pattern and color, as well as charts, iconography, and satellite imaging.' -Gin Stone

That Interim of Purpose
Located in Dallas, TX
The sculpture is painted cast plaster. The dimensions are for the painted cast plaster. The black base dimensions are 2 x 10 x 10 inches. About this body of work: “Everybody has that feeling when they look at a work of art and it’s right, that sudden familiarity, a sort of...recognition, as though they were creating it themselves, as though it were being created through them while they look at it or listen to it...” ―William Gaddis, "The Recognitions" “A great deal of my recent work was made during a time when I was reading the great American novel by William Gaddis, "The Recognitions," the most demanding book I’ve ever read. Along the way, I extracted sentence fragments that interested me and I pieced them together to make the titles for the last three years of my work. So, my recent work is linked to Gaddis’ novel through the titles, but also in the theme of “recognition,” which speaks to the nature of my work. I feel my way through various processes until I recognize a possibility―a possibility that is promising in terms of visual dynamics but also in terms of giving a body to some part of my experience. It is my hope that the viewer is compelled to recognize some part of themselves reflected in the work.” —Michael O’Keefe Michael O’Keefe earned his MFA from SMU and currently teaches at The O’Keefe Studio Center in Richardson, Texas. This sculpture was included in "Recognitions," his fifth solo exhibition at Valley House...

Originally hailing from a small ranching community in northwestern Colorado, she has been around horses most of her life. After retiring from the medical industry in 2008, she devoted herself to a year of studying three-dimensional portraiture. After that, she focused on figurative art, taking multiple workshops at Scottsdale Artist's School. She works with both water- and oil-based clays, and creates realistic figures of the athletic human form, horses and other animals. Her work has been accepted into juried competitions such as: Bosque Art Classic, the American Academy of Equine Art Museum show, The Texas Masters of Fine Arts and Crafts, the Breckenridge Fine Art Show, the Mountain Oyster Show, Little Rock's "Sculpture at the River market", Cattlemen’s Western Art Show Loveland Sculpture in the Park, and the Museum of Western Art Awards include "Best of Show" 2016, at Breckenridge Fine Art ShowIn 2017, the Museum of Western Art in Kerrville, Texas acquired one of Drake's pieces for permanent exhibition. In 2019 and 2020, Drake was selected to be one of two sculptors who taught elite art students at the Western Art Academy at Schreiner University, Kerrville Texas. Artist's Statement What is "ART" if it doesn't arouse strong emotion from the viewer? I strive to express strength, grace, motion, rhythm, and beauty. Working in the mediums of both water- and oil-based clays, I look for topics that will allow me to express symmetry, balance, rhythm, and motion, as well as beauty. My subject matter comes from my own imagination. I have always been an animal lover, and I have always been fascinated with the grace, beauty, and strength of true athletes. My favorite tool is a kitchen paring knife...
