"Office Armchair" by Pierre Jeanneret, circa 1955
Located in London, GB
Authentic 'Office Chair' from the administrative buildings of Chandigarh (Ref. PJ-SI-28-B). In excellent condition - joints have been restored and cane work replaced. Pierre Jeanneret (22 March 1896 - 4 December 1967) was a Swiss architect who collaborated with his cousin, Le Corbusier, designing furniture for Le Corbusier's vast modernist complex at Chandigarh. Jeanneret remained for over 15 years as the project’s chief architect and the city remains a masterpiece of the modern vision. The pair pioneered a new aesthetic that placed function and order over embellishment—Jeanneret’s work imbuing the strict geometry of modernism with lighter materials like cane and wood. Jeanneret also collaborated with other modern masters, Charlotte Perriand on experiments in aluminium and wood, and Jean Prouve developing prefabricated housing. Literature: Catalogue Raisonné du Mobilier: Jeanneret Chandigarh, 2019. Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, The Indian Adventure...

Louise Club Chair in Copper Over Teak wood by Paul Mathieu for Stephanie Odegard
Located in New York, NY
The renowned designer Paul Mathieu chose the name “Louise” when he created his more feminine version of Louis XV (1730-1760) furniture. The characteristic cabriole leg, curving outward at the knee and inward towards the foot in an "S" shape was born during this period. It is during the same era that English furniture makers produced the Queen Anne and Chippendale styles. The curved legs and side arms of this exceptionally elegant chair are hand carved from solid pieces of teak. Pattern makers trace and cut complex forms that will cover the chair in a skin of copper or purest silver (assayed at 96% purity, beyond sterling at 92.5%). The metal finishes will tarnish over time. Regular non-abrasive household metal polishes can be used to restore the original luster. Louise Club Chair...

Admani Bench by Pendhapa
Located in Geneve, CH
Admani bench by Pendhapa Dimensions: D 126 x W 45 x H 42 cm Materials: Solid black javanese teak, Hand loom Silk Weight: 60 kg The vision behind our collaboration with Helena Bajaj Larsen is one of merging and honouring aesthetic and heritage standpoints hailing from diverse global perspectives. It is the coming together of an architectural design studio and a textile fashion studio. Our collaboration is anchored in space, touch and interaction and manifests itself through both its structural and spatial qualities. Our first piece is intended as a physical object that would bring people together - a point of convergence in a circulatory space: a bench fit for a few individuals to gather, converse, observe. We designed the bench as a central piece in the spirit of dissolving the boundaries between product and architecture, fabric and surface, object and space. Pendhapa Atelier is here acting as the creative engineer behind the structure of the product. Their design for the bench is conceived as “plateau” to support and showcase the artwork and craftsmanship present in the fabric by HBL. The plateau is divided by two asymmetric arcs making the experience of the bench different from each angle. The fabric is entirely hand-painted and is made of pure handloom Indian raw silk We are Atelier Pendhapa...
