About the Item

A Josef Hoffmann brass, hand-hammered handled basket, made by the Wiener Werkstatte, circa 1920. The hammered fluted basket is of rounded open shape with variously sized flutes around the rim and with a shaped fluted raised handle. Made from brass the basket has a hammered finish and has a wonderful unpolished bronzed patina. The basket has an impressed Josef Hoffmann monogram, Wiener Werkstatte stamp and Made in Austria hammered to the base of the basket.
