Johann Loetz Witwe Green Papillon Large Iridescent art Glass Bowl

About the Item

A stunning large Art Nouveau green Papillon iridescent art glass bowl by Johann Loetz Witwe in Klostermühle in southwestern Bohemia and dating from around 1900. The large Loetz bowl is of wide rounded form standing on a flat base with polished central pontil and with a raised splayed rim with an undulating rim forming a flower head. The bowl has a wonderful iridescent green patterning on a green glass ground with a golden iridescent finish to the inner bowl. This wonderful and stylish Loetz bowl is not marked. Provenance: From a wonderful collection of iridescent art glass which we are also offering for sale. Acquired from the UK Art Market. In good condition with normal wear associated with age and use. A tiny pinhead chip to the rim.
