About the Item
PostCraft is a collection that builds cultural bridges, inviting us to broaden our view of the world, to look beyond the borders of Europe and the West and to consider that art and creativity can create new and important dialogues that benefit us all.
This collection is the artist’s interpretation of pre, during and post-oil eras that have defined the Middle East, creating a bridge between the three historical periods. Each era’s impact on the other is expressed through the the fluidity and transitional qualities of the vases. Each period is represented by the distinct textures of each vase. A raw and earthy coral effect symbolises the time before oil was discovered; a luxurious gold foil façade bears testimony to the wealth and prosperity that came with its’discover; the post-oil world, driven by technology and sustainability, is shown through glossy metallic. Each piece of work has journeyed through time, and has a story to tell.
