A rare pair of George II English cut-glass two-light candelabra attributed to Christopher Haedy the diamond-cut bases with baluster stem and all in one containers these centred by triangularly notched spires these surmounted by a drop hung step cut scallop edged canopy and a star cut finial the container plates supporting a notched cut snake arm and two slip over candle arms unusual mounted with triangularly spires these arms with star cut slip over drop hung drip pans. An unusual 18th century Burmese Arakan style red lacquered and richly gilt cast bronze figure of the Crowned Medicine Buddha, commonly referred to as Bhaishajyaguru. The Supreme Healer is portrayed seated in vajrasana (full lotus position) upon a throne of nine elephants, symbolizing the practice of samatha, or calming the mind (mindfulness) - specifically the nine stages of calm abiding. These exceptional antique George II sterling silver tea caddies have a circular baluster shaped form. The surface of each antique tea caddy is embellished with very sharp, finely chased floral and foliate decoration, incorporating a scroll bordered vacant cartouche to either side. The ornamentation to the body of each piece incorporates a plain applied moulded girdle. These caddies are fitted with a cylindrical push fit covers encircled with leaf decorated textures.
