About the Item

Limited edition Elgin ceramic statuette entirely realized in ceramic from the 12 Columns series designed by Alessandro Mendini for Superego, 2008. Black and turquoise meet to create a sophisticated silhouette that can evoke the shape of a goddess or the powerful verticality of a totem. Part of a limited of a 50-piece series. Signed and numbered under the base. Alessandro Mendini was an Italian designer and architect. He played an important part in the development of Italian, Postmodern, and Radical design. He was interested in mixing different cultures and different forms of expression. His works wandered between graphics, furniture, interiors, paintings and architecture and he also worked for Domus, Modo and Casabella magazines. Alessandro Mendini was awarded several international prizes, including the Compasso d’Oro in 1979,1981 and in 2014.
