About the Item

Senape flower vase designed by Ettore Sottsass for Marutomi. This model is limited Japanese urushi lacquer model. Japanese traditional urushi pigment is made from natural urushi tree, which has about 9,000 years history. These two colors of dark vermilion and dark brown are both traditional colors of urushi. This is the best example of the mixture with Western contemporary design and Eastern traditional techniques. This one is light vermilion. Out of production, new in box.
