Storyteller: Mr. Anderson, a successful businessman, and his daughter, Lily, made their home in a stately rural manor. Over the years, Mr. Anderson amassed a collection of rare paintings and priceless vases, which he proudly displayed in his home. Mr. Anderson was perusing an antique shop one day when he stumbled upon a pair of gorgeous French opaline glass lusters. These goblet-shaped lusters were gilded in pink and white-hued glass and hand-made in France between 1850 and 1900. Mr. Anderson bought the lusters without hesitating and carried them home to add to his collection. The moment he set them on the mantel in the living room, they commanded everyone's attention. Pink and white opaline glass sparkled in the sunshine, creating a cozy atmosphere. Like a magnet, Lily was pulled to the lusters and stared at them in awe for hours. She was captivated by the way the light reflected off the glass and highlighted the fine features of the pattern. Seeing her interest, her father proceeded to educate her about the origins of opaline glass and the meaning of its lusters. They put their heads together and discovered that opaline glass was specially designed to create elaborate chandeliers...

Late 19th Century Milky White Opaline Bohemian Gilded Box, France, 1850-1920
Located in Queens Village, NY
This antique Bohemian opaline glass box is a work of art that has withstood the test of time. Because of the beautiful gold gilding that covers all four sides, this exquisite piece of milky white glass is a treasure for collectors and art lovers. This box, handcrafted in France between 1850 and 1920, is an excellent example of the country's ever-popular handicraft. Despite having lost some of its gilding, the glass is in excellent condition, with no apparent chips or cracks. The classic appearance of the box will give character to any environment, and it is ideal for storing valuables. Because of its exceptional beauty and elegance, this antique box is a must-have for every history buff or lover of great craftsmanship. We are selling this beautiful art piece on different platforms; please check availability before purchasing. More photos may be provided if necessary. Storyteller: A young American soldier called James served in France during World War Two. As he strolled down the street, he saw an antique shop with a stunning opaline glass box in the window. Even though the glass had lost its gold coating, it was still in fine condition. James wasted no time in entering the store to inquire about the mysterious box. Madame Dupont claims the box, which is flawless, was manufactured in France some time between 1850 and 1920. James bought the crate because he wanted a piece of French heritage in his home. James kept the box on his bunk and used it to pass the time in his leisure time while stationed in France. James found comfort in the box since it brought back memories of France's pre-war splendor and culture. James was tragically abducted while on duty. He reflected on the times when the box had helped him relax while he was locked up. It was something he desperately wanted to get his hands on again. James had all but given up hope of ever being released from the camp. And yet, as he was being led back to his cell, he recognized something: a milky white opaline glass box...

The architect’s creative contribution was evident both in the glass forms and in their innovative manufacturing technique. When Buzzi arrived at the Venini company in Murano, in 1932, he brought with him a remarkable cultural baggage and a thorough knowledge of ancient art, particularly the Etruscan period...

Pair of Turquoise Opaline Glass Vases Hand-Painted with Parakeets and Flowers
Located in Queens Village, NY
Pair of large translucent, trumpet-shaped, gilded, and painted turquoise opaline glass vases. These pair of opaline vases are decorated with gorgeous hand-painted parakeets and flowers on one side and butterflies and flowers on the other. The rim on top and bottom are gilded. This elegant pair was made in France from approximately 1850 to 1920. The pair is in perfect condition, with no chips or cracks detected. There is some gold lost due to age. We are selling this beautiful vases on different platforms; please check availability before purchasing. More photos may be provided if necessary. Storyteller: Once upon a time, there was a lovely couple who had recently relocated to their dream home in France. When organizing their attic, they discovered a pair of beautiful opaline glass vases that had been passed down from generation to generation. The vases were stunning, with intricate designs of parakeets and butterflies surrounded by flowers painted in the most beautiful blue colors. The vases had an antique enchantment that drew the two in, and their beauty captured them. They noticed something odd as they placed the vases on the coffee table. There had particular energy about them, almost as if they were alive. The vases radiated warmth and love, and the couple felt like they were being welcomed by an old, beloved friend. The couple couldn't help but sense a connection to the vases as they sat on the couch. These were more than just decorative items; they had a history of love and passion that had spanned generations. The vases served as a window into the couple's history, reminding them of the beauty and enchantment of love. As time passed, the pair would frequently sit by the vases, holding hands and telling stories about their own love journey. They'd talk about the highs and lows, and how their love had grown stronger with each passing day. They could feel the vases beaming back at them as they talked as if to say, "Love never dies." Years passed, and the couple grew old together, but their love remained constant. Throughout it all, the vases served as a continual reminder of love's undying strength. They were no longer just antiques; they were a symbol of the couple's personal love story, a memory of their shared journey. So the pair of blue opaline glass vases...

Single Goblet Shaped, Gilded and Painted White Opaline Glass Luster, Late 19th C
Located in Queens Village, NY
This luster takes the form of a goblet, and it is covered in stunning Islamic and Arabic motifs. There's a good chance that the product was made with the Turkish market in mind. It was created in France between the years 1850 and 1920, but the exact year is unknown. This particular luster has not even the slightest chip or crack in it. Because the artwork is not burned into the glass and some of it has been scratched out through the years, we are unable to come to a consensus regarding how old this item is. The gold and the paintings have both lost some of their color and sparkle as a result of the passage of time. We are selling this beautiful luster on different platforms; please check availability before purchasing. More photos may be provided if necessary. Storyteller: Amina loved browsing through antique shops, always on the lookout for unique treasures to add to her collection. One day, she came across a stunning luster goblet with intricate Arabic designs covering it. Amina was immediately drawn to its beauty and knew she had to have it. As she examined the goblet, she noticed that it was in perfect condition, with no chips or cracks, and the designs seemed to be etched into the glass. She wondered about its age, and after some research, she discovered that it was made in France between 1850 and 1920, most likely for the Turkish market. However, the exact year of its creation remained a mystery. Excited to show off her new find, Amina invited her friends over for a small gathering. As they admired the goblet's unique decorations and shimmering gold, Amina noticed her friend Ali studying it intently. When she asked if everything was alright, Ali shared a memory from his childhood: his grandfather's ancient Arabic...

It is believed to have originated in Northern Mesopotamia, where carved glass objects were the result of a series of experiments led by potters or metalworkers. From there, the production of glass vases, bottles and other objects proliferated in Egypt under the reign of Thutmose III. Later, new glassmaking techniques took shape during the Hellenistic era, and glassblowing was invented in contemporary Israel. Then, on the island of Murano in Venice, Italy, modern art glass as we know it came to be.

Over the years, collectors of glass decorative objects or serveware have sought out distinctive antique and vintage pieces of the mid-century modern, Art Deco and Art Nouveau eras, with artisans such as Archimede Seguso, René Lalique and Émile Gallé of particular interest for the pioneering contributions they made to the respective styles in which they worked. Today, long-standing glassworks such as Barovier&Toso carry on the Venetian glasswork tradition, while modern furniture designers and sculptors such as Christophe Côme and Jeff Zimmerman elsewhere test the limits of the radical art form that is glassmaking.
