About the Item

Chinese porcelain covered dish in an unusual pistachio green glaze. Circa 1920 Footed with swept up sides and shaped corners. A good mounded top with a fruit finial. Bottom stamped MADNCHINA, stamped in red ink for export, not fired on. Heavy stoneware porcelain probably a ceremonial food container. Wonderful robust build and bright color.

    Wear consistent with age and use. This is heavily built and has a thick glaze with a slight pocked and pooled texture owing to the heavy glaze. This creates an interesting textured surface that reflects light off of the bright color.
