Sistema Chandelier by Piattelli Design, 6-shade

This chandelier uses an ingenious rotating stem structure and features a shallow drum-shaped shade at the end of each arm.
The chandelier arms are designed with two lengths so that each can be staggered at different angles. They work well in any space and suit both regular and low-ceilinged rooms wonderfully.
This is the medium Sistema chandelier, with 3 arms and 6 shades. Ideal for an oval or long dining table. It works well also over an island.
The result is uniform lighting from above the dining table. There is nothing else like this on the market. There are beautiful chandeliers available, but they always tend to give out too much light in the center and too little at either side.
Each shade has two LED strips that can be lit separately. In this way you can have either a regular light or a stronger light depending on how you need to use the chandelier. The LEDs are top quality with a CRI of over 80. This ensures that the natural color of food and people can be seen perfectly. See the next to last photo, where there is some fruit and a color chart below the chandelier.
The LEDs are on a 24V direct current feed, so there is no flickering.
The arms can rotate 180 degrees, for many possible combinations. See the drawing for the two regular positions. The chandelier can also be rotated when it is lit.
The shades can be rotated on the arm axis to meet any lighting needs in a living room (paintings, bookshelves etc.). The shades have neutral white glass fixtures. Please see the photos.
On the back there is a smaller Lucite opening for giving ambient light.
The chandelier has the ingenious brass finishes of the orbitale collection.
This listing shows measurements for a dining table and the smallest drop. A change of drop is complimentary.

Top-quality LEDs with over 80 CRI, meaning that the lighting does not alter the color of food and people.
The LEDs are on a 24V direct current feed, so there is no flickering. The arms can be rotated 180 degrees to configure various combinations. As well as two rows of evenly-spaced lights over a dining table, a regular 8-shade star or 4-shade star (see photos) are possible, as well as creative sculptural shapes. The arms can be rotated even when the chandelier is lit.

In 2015 we gave new life to glass from a 1950s ceiling fixture salvaged from the once magnificent Hotel Bristol in Meran, Italy upon the remaining components of the light fixtures and reengineered it with an entirely new metalware frame based on Led technology. The original gilt melted glass laces were carefully interwoven once again and cast into a more contemporary shape. In one of the pictures you can see one of the original lights by Flavio Poli with a brass frame whereas there have been many versions from the same glass pieces in the hotel. One light has already made its way to NYC and has been installed in an apartment there (see pictures). This is a unique opportunity to acquire one of the last remaining historical Poli glass pieces from the glamorous hotel Bristol as well as simply possessing a beautiful and large flush light, suited for a variety of different rooms and spaces.

While electric light bulbs were a huge improvement over gas and oil lamps for lighting our homes, we still had much work to do in order to arrive at the broad range of table lamps, pendants, sconces and other fixtures that are available today.

Eventually, flush mount light fixtures became a practical option for home lighting.
Flush mount lighting fixtures are among the most convenient ways to light a small room with a low ceiling. These structures sit directly against the ceiling’s surface and cast light downward, illuminating a large area and defining the room. Semi-flush mount lighting fixtures hang several inches from the ceiling. They also produce ambient light but can be a little more decorative and lean toward the style of chandeliers.
Flush mount lighting is versatile. Larger fixtures distribute more ambient light across the center of the room, while smaller flush mount fixtures are best for accent or task lighting. The main drawback of flush mount fixtures is that they don’t make a strong statement. You can remedy this by strategically arranging decorative accents that flourish in soft lighting.
