About the Item

A fine antique French Edition miniature globe. By C. Abel-Klinger. On a turned wooden stand with an uncalibrated brass half meridian. The globe is marked with an integral label that read 'La Terre d'Après les plus nouvelles découvertes. Nuremberg: Institut Artistique de C. Abel-Klinger, Editeure'. Simply a wonderful globe! Date: 19th century Overall condition: It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition. Condition details: There is some wear to the varnish, a few small losses & possible small repairs to paper gores here & there, toning throughout, and the brass meridian is slightly loose at its joint to the stand. Otherwise, there are some fine & light surface scratches and other signs of light wear consistent with age. Maker: C. Abel-Klinger Marks: With an integral label for Abel-Klinger in Nuremberg.
