Jacky Puzey creates statement furniture akin to richly textured artworks, combining a material palette of velvet, silk, faux fur, feathers, tweed, silk and organza with digital and hand embroidery. The animal kingdom is a constant source of inspiration, with designs that include ravens, hares, squirrels, koi carp, parakeets and peacocks. Her work may reference seventeenth-century allegorical still life paintings and eighteenth-century chinoiserie, but she also encompasses urban themes, such as London’s parakeets and the leopards that roam free in Mumbai’s suburbs - the latter provided the inspiration for this spectacular piece.
