About the Item

Poul Kjærholm PK 91 Stool by Fritz Hansen, Denmark The PK91 stool by Poul Kjærholm, made by Fritz Hansen, folds up in one smooth move—perfect for when you need an extra seat or just want to show off your good taste. The frame is elegantly constructed, with a subtle bend in the steel that’s both visually striking and technically refined. The leather seat is in excellent condition—still tight, clean, and almost like new. Originally designed in 1961 and based on ancient folding stools, the PK91 reflects Kjærholm’s deep interest in historical typologies, reimagined with modern materials and precision engineering. This particular example was produced by Fritz Hansen, who took over production from E. Kold Christensen in 1982. Now considered a Danish design classic, the PK91 is part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) in New York. A refined, collectible piece that combines functionality, craftsmanship, and a strong sculptural presence.
