About the Item

Available now, this Brazilian Modern Sideboard in Caviuna Wood by Carlo Hauner & Martin Eisler, is beautiful! This formidable sideboard was designed by Carlo Hauner and Martin Eisler for Moveis Artesanais, the design duo’s first company and predecessor of the better known Forma. The piece still maintains the manufacturer’s seal. This is a very versatile piece because it can be used as a regular sideboard or as a bar, as it has a pull out tray that can be used to increase the surface of the piece. Carlo Hauner and Martin Eisler were the primary designers for Forma, an international company that symbolized the innovative nature of the Brazilian modern design industry. During their time in São Paulo, a city experiencing rapid growth and industrialization, Eisler and Hauner had the opportunity to create customized furniture. They shared a mutual appreciation for sophisticated design and aimed to bring style into Brazilian households through their work with Forma. While their designs for Forma captured the elegance seen in traditional ateliers in Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo during the mid-20th century, Eisler and Hauner differentiated themselves by incorporating customized production methods. Their highly skilled craftsmanship, coupled with the use of local materials like hardwood, leather, and iron, resulted in polished and diverse pieces that appealed to a wider audience. .
