This antique table from Italy retains its original "Lacca Povera" finish also known as laca povera, arte povera, lacca contrafatta, decalcomania, and perhaps more commonly, decoupage. This is the artistic technique of adorning a furniture surface with paper prints and lacquered layers which was perfected and made popular during the 17th and 18th century.
