20th Century Gae Aulenti for Poltronova Table mod. Locus Solus

About the Item

Gae Aulenti was an Italian designer and architect who was active in furniture design, graphic design, lighting design and interior design. She was known for her contribution to the design of important museums such as Musée d'Orsay and the Contemporary Art Gallery in the Centre Pompidou, in Paris, the restoration of Palazzo Grassi in Venice and the Asian Art Museum in San Francisco. She has also design products and furniture for companies such as Artemide, Candle, Knoll, Louis Vuitton and Martinelli Luce to name a few. Here The Locus Solus Table produced by Poltronova in the 1967. Locus Solus collection is the first big outdoor collection ever made. Colors and lines of the collection adapt themselves to the environment with vivacity and personality. With Locus Solus, Gae Aulenti explores the expressive potential of color applied to metal and cloth to create a fresh and relaxed setting. The geometry of the steel tubular framework with the eccentric application of color becomes a feature of great personality, a timeless mood that, together with materials and cushions decorative patterns, has made Locus Solus an informal and lively icon for pop style. Table dimensions: 70 * 84 * 84 cm Availability for the same collection also a set of four chairs. We recommend a wooden crate for shipping to prevent glass damage.
