This exceptional, fine and impressive antique pendant has been crafted in 18k yellow gold, in the iconic Art Nouveau manner*.
The pendant displays a central pierced decorated interlacing oval design ornamented with impressive hot enamel decoration, incorporating blue and green graduating tones.
This antique enamel pendant suspends from a 14ct yellow gold chain via two ring loops to the apex of the frame, and secures to the reverse with a conventional ring bolt clasp fastening.
The reverse surface of the Art Nouveau pendant is embellished with the contemporary engraved inscription 'To E.M.T. from W.E.F. 1st June 1910'.
This pendant is hallmarked to the reverse with the 18k gold mark (18CT) and has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 18 karat gold with a 14 karat gold chain.
NOTE:* This pendant reflects the iconic Art Nouveau gold and enamel jewellery designs of Liberty and Archibald Knox.

A classic Art Nouveau design, this 15k rose gold necklace features stunning plique-à-jour, Rose Cut diamonds, and beautiful pearls. The centerpiece of the necklace is articulated, hinged in two places so that the flower and pearl drops dangle freely. Three plique-à-jour leaves are translucent—the loveliest matte soft green that fades into subtle purple highlights, clearly done by a master. Each cell of the leaf is filled with plique, with a white metal (platinum or white gold) creating contrast in the center of the leaf. Inside are a channel of bead set Rose Cut diamonds. A flower is suspended from the leaves, with multi-tones of peach to pale yellow that glow against the gold, with a prong-set diamond as its piston. The design work loops over, turning the bail into a scrolling foliate. The 15k gold appears rosy, as it has an incredible patina that shimmers with various hues of pink, gold, and green.
“Plique-à-jour” translates from French as “letting in daylight” and is a charming technique used in jewelry throughout the 20th century. To create this effect, colored, transparent enamel is suspended between gold backless cells to allow light to illuminate the piece with vibrant colors, similar to a stained glass window.

This incredibly bright and colorful wispy design was created around the important Imperial Topaz
that is the center of the piece, and is only found in one area - Ouro Preto, Brasil. The owner of All That Glitters has been to this location and UNESCO Site a number of times. Obtaining the more common yellow Topaz is difficult enough, but the more rare orangy, apricot, peach, purply or even red is far more rare and quite expensive.
When this uniquely shaped, bright, wonderfully colored (color varies under different lighting conditions and the flashes will also vary producing an aesthetically pleasing play of color/light/sparkle), it was a gemstone that was destined
for the All That Glitters Collection. Once in the collection, Derek Katzenbach of Maine (gemstone cutter and jewelry designer - multi-award winning one too!), a person whom we have known for many years, was contacted to work his magic and create something unique - and this piece is the result of many months of designing/creating. We entered it into the AGTA's (American Gem Trade Association) Annual Spectrum Awards Contest for Jewelry upon completion. We have attached an image showing Katzenbach's incredibly designed Kaleidoscope using Maine Tourmalines. Words can't describe it and the price once completed hit the six figure mark - workmanship and designs like this is no longer seen. Believed to now reside in the GIA (Gemological Institute of America) museum. This attention to detail, color and design is also seen in "Fall in New England" which is now being currently offered for sale.

In ancient times, pendant necklaces worn by royalty and nobles conferred wealth and prestige. Today, wearing jewelry is about personal expression: Luxury diamond necklaces exude confidence and can symbolize the celebratory nature of a deep romantic relationship, while paper-clip chain-link necklaces designed by the likes of goldsmith Faye Kim are firmly planted in the past as well as the present. Kim works exclusively with eco-friendly gold, and these fashionable, fun accessories owe to the design of 19th-century watch fobs.
For some, necklaces are thought of as being a solely feminine piece, but this widely loved accessory has been gender-neutral for eons. In fact, just as women rarely took to wearing a single necklace during the Renaissance, men of the era layered chains and valuable pendants atop their bejeweled clothing. In modern times, the free-spirited hippie and counterculture movements of the 1960s saw costume-jewelry designers celebrating self-expression through colorful multistrand necklaces and no shortage of beads, which were worn by anyone and everyone.
Even after all of these years, the necklace remains an irrefutable staple of any complete outfit. Vintage necklaces designed by David Webb — whose work landed him on the cover of Vogue in 1950, two years after opening his Manhattan shop — were likely inspired by the ornamental styles of ancient Greece, Mesopotamia and Egypt.
