Anton Michelsen Company
He was born 1809 in Copenhagen Denmark, he completed a goldsmith's apprenticeship in Odense in 1839 before moving back to Copenhagen where he continued his training in Dyrkoph's and court goldsmith J.B. Dalhoff's workshops. He also attended the Royal Danish Academy of Arts where he was influenced by Gustav Friedrich Hersch. In 1836, he went on a long journey abroad, working in some of the leading goldsmiths in Germany and Paris. He established his own goldsmith in Gothersgade, Copenhagen when he returned to Denmark in 1841. He immediately won the attention of the royal family and the king Christian VIII charged him with executing all Danish orders with title of royal court and order jeweler. Michelsen was the only Danish goldsmith who was represented at the Exposition Universelle in Paris in 1855. The company of A. Michelsen, was a leading Danish jeweler founded in 1841 by Anton Michelsen in Copenhagen. It was responsible for executing all Danish royal orders and was absorbed by the Georg Jensen company in 1985.
Eigil Jensen
Eigil Jensen was born in the Danish town of Aalborg in 1917. He liked drawing and was originally drawn towards graphic design, but was unable to find an apprenticeship. Instead, a goldsmith in Aalborg was looking for an apprentice who could draw. He soon showed an aptitude for his work and finished his apprenticeship in 1938. Jensen then sought new challenges and was employed by Hans Hansen in Kolding, Hans Hansen silversmith had an international reputation by this time. After five years at Hans Hansen Jensen sent his CV to A. Michelsen in Copenhagen, where he worked for the next forty years until his retirement in 1985. After just four years he became the foreman for the goldsmith workshop, he simultaneously studied and became a qualified gemologist and diamond expert. At Michelsen Eigil Jensen fulfilled many different design assignments, including jewelry, Christmas spoons, and hollowware. He also executed many commission orders; mayoral chains, church silver and silverware for Crown Prince Margrethe and Prince Henrik's as well as Princess Benedikte and Prince Richard...

This piece of jewelry is an exceptional and very sophisticated design, created in Paris France by the jewelry designer Jean Dinh Van, back in the 1991. This is the larger forty mm Pi pendant-necklace, carefully crafted in solid yellow gold of 24 karats (.999/.999 Au) with a delicate hammered finish. The Pi figure is suspended in an adjustable silk cord. The design of this piece was originally inspired by an 11th century Mayan gold disc, found in the Yucatan peninsula, and is actually exhibited at the Museo Nacional De Antropologia in Mexico. This gold disc blends perfectly with the geometric motif so dear to the Maison of Dinh Van.

Jean Dinh Van
He is a French designer, that was born in 1927 from a French-Vietnamese family. His successful career started behind the workbench at the French jewelry house of Cartier in 1946 and then work for Pierre Cardin. In 1972 he started his own company and the followed years his revolutionary designs and style caught on quickly and launched him to the forefront of the jewelry and fashion world. All his designs are very geometric and modern, both, his original vintage pieces created for Cartier and the contemporary creations are highly collectible. Dinh Van pieces are very fashionable, sophisticate and easy to wear, also can be displayed as a small toys, sculptures and "Object's du Vertu". Since Jean Dinh Van, the first Parisian minimalist jeweler, left Cartier and opened his own shop at la Place Vendome in 1965, the brand has established itself as one of the premiere Parisian jewelers. A beautiful piece of wearable art, created in Paris France by the artist, sculptor and goldsmith Jean Mahie, back in the late 1970's. This rare vintage sculptural cross pendant was carefully crafted in solid rich yellow gold of 22 karats with all the surfaces finished with textured, chiseled and hammered patterns. It is a very interesting piece created from two elements of abstract forms, which are attached together with four ribbets. This solid gold pendant is an impressive and lends a big, bold, gold look on your chain.

Hallmarks: Stamped with French marks, the eagle's head for the assay and warranty of the 22kt gold, the maker's maitre mark JM associated to Jean Mahie in a lozange cartouche, the serial numbers and Signed in full on the bottom, "JEAN MAHIE 22KT JM 5649NM".
Jean Mahie, is the result of a wonderfully symbiotic and fruitful partnership between Jacline Mazard and her father-in-law Jean-Marie Mazard. They first began combining their artistic talents in 1969, working from a studio in Mouans-Sartoux in the South of France, and launched their jewellery line the following year. Neither was formally trained and both preferred to work with 22ct gold in order to realise their unique style that embodied primitive form, motifs and techniques. Everything they made was entirely hand crafted with Jacline often drawing inspiration from her memories of growing up near the ancient ruins of Carthage in Tunisia.

Whether you’re layering multiple jewelry pieces or opting for a single strand, vintage pendant necklaces are versatile accessories that can elevate your casual wear as easily as they can add a creative flourish to your formal attire.
The earliest jewelry was less about accessorizing than it was about wearers arming themselves with amulets. In Ancient Egypt, some amulets featured a loop so that they could be strung around one’s neck. While rubies have long been one of the few gemstones that can give diamonds a run for their money, members of some ancient civilizations valued the stones from the get-go, donning ruby pendants as well as other stones with the belief that these adornments would bring protection, healing powers or strength. Today, we still wear our charm bracelets and charm pendants around our necks for good luck.
Later, pendant necklaces, like most fine jewelry, were worn strictly by royalty or the upper class and conferred wealth and prestige. This changed over time, thankfully, as wearing jewelry became more widespread, a democratized means of personal expression.
During the 18th and 19th centuries, pendant necklaces evolved from their status as spiritual amulets, but the jewels still carried deep personal significance. Victorian pendants, in particular, were part of the “mourning jewelry” tradition. Wearers would embed their pendants with locks of hair from a deceased loved one as a way of grieving in the wake of a loss. In the case of cameo jewelry, some pendants were even decorated with miniature hand-carved portraits in a detailed raised relief. Today, portraiture is still a characteristic of many of the hand-carved pendant necklaces offered by Italian jewelry house Scala Gioielli.
Luxury fine jewelry brands such as Cartier, BVLGARI and David Yurman offer their own unique interpretations of the cherished accessory, embellishing platinum or gold pendant necklaces with diamonds, sapphires and other stones.
