A fantastic late 18th century chest of drawers showing an extraordinary design combining straight lines with soft curved shapes. The fine nut wood veneered surface with beautiful grain confers this amazing looking chest of drawers a real special appearance. This over 250 years old antique dresser was part of the inventory of an old chapel and impresses with its roots maple sections, whereby each field has been additionally framed by delicate inlayed ebonized fruitwood. Adorned by lovely brass fittings, the three artfully designed, cambered drawers can be locked separately with the still original so-called "snap locks" and offer a lot of storage space (the original key is included).

Excellent Meissen porcelain group of the 19th century:
Depiction of the goddess Kybele, the great Phrygian mother of the gods 'Magna Mater', seated with a mural crown on a reclining lion, holding a cornucopia on her lap, symbol of wealth and abundance, behind her standing on a rock a female cupid presenting a key, surrounded by further three cupids with flowers, crops and rake, symbolising agriculture and the cultivation of the earth.
The group is based on an irregular earth and rock base with a gold rim.
Kybele usually wears a crown in the shape of a city wall on her head as an attribute and is depicted in castles, monasteries and baroque gardens, especially in the 18th century. In cycles showing the four elements, she embodies the earth. That is why she is often presented with the sun and moon to her right and left. In the other hand she may carry a staff of office, a sceptre, as a symbol of rulership complementing the mural crown. In the other hand she carries a small kettledrum, which may symbolise the noise of her madness or the festivities held in her honour. Often Kybele rides on a lion or a pair of lions, or she rides on a chariot drawn by two lions. Spikes of corn, poppies, flowers or fruit in bowls may also be shown. wikipwdia.

Very rare and excellent porcelain sculpture:
Kaendler created the group Apollo and Python as a triangular composition in March and May of1774. Apollo stands in the highest place as the radiant victor over the dragon Python and over the personification of envy, both of whom lie slain at his feet. To the left, Minerva sits as the goddess of prudent war, turning her gaze to the hero. Dressed in helmet and armor, she carries a spear in her right hand and an olive branch in her left, while the owl next to her right foot indicates her identity as Pallas Athena. Just like Apollo, the tsarina protected by Minerva is supposed to leave the envious behind and always triumph over evil.
The group is based on stepped, irregular, yet symmetrical, partially curved base with gold raised frieze decoration and was made in two parts, which were then joined and screwed together.

Kändler created this group in 1772, right at the beginning of the work on the large order, as a personification of one of the two great main
rivers of the vast Russian Empire, the natural waterways Volga and Dnieper, important for economy and traffic, which promised prosperity and wealth to the Empire:
The Volga in the form of a river god, seated sideways on heavily relieved fully sculptured rock covered with shells and coins as well as fern and reed plants, fully bearded and crowned with laurel, wrapped in floral patterned purple loincloth. He looks pensively to the side and rests his right arm on an overturned baluster vase, from which water flows together with shells and fish, on the wall of the vase the crowned, rocaille-framed Polish-Lithuanian royal coat of arms with the coat of arms of the Electorate of Saxony. At the same time he touches with his hand an oar with gold ornamentation and crossed red swords, in his left he holds a cornucopia with plastic flowers, ears of grain and coins, symbols of fertility and wealth.
The group is based on the front curved plinth with relief gold heightened meander and ribbon border.

This is an outstanding Italian 18th century carved wood polychromed sculpture of Virgin Mary. The Sculpture is hand painted with some remains of a gold gilt in few places and originated until lately in a private Villa in Tuscany (Italy). The colors are typical red, blue and green are spectacular on this large figure. An absolute masterpiece of mid 18th century Italian craftsmanship is this unbelievable artfully crafted marquetry chest of drawers out of Milan. Made around 1760 with highest attention to details, this one of a kind museum-quality commode is not only a precious item of antique furniture, much more it is a real smart investment. The very time-consuming restoration of this masterpiece took us more than 9 weeks and has been done by our most experienced master of restoration. The ultimate goal was it to restore it the old way to keep the unbelievable charme of this valuable 18th century dresser. With an age of more than 260 years, this remarkable rare chest of drawers comes with an elegant shaped body made of spruce and poplar, elaborately set nutwood/ cherry veneer and incredible marquetry works all over this unique italian commode. Providing two large drawers, this outstanding 18th century dresser is adorned by fantastic looking, inlayed depicitions of women surrounded by extensively designed round frames made of maple, nut and plum wood. The largest depiction on the front even runs over both drawers. The top plate is an absolute highlight, impressing with this amazing worked 3D-effect frame made of fine ebony, maple and plum wood which looks like a spiral. The same design has also been used on the front of this precious chest of drawers. The second frame with a slight green shine has been additionally surrounded by thin maple threads. Other exceptional 3D effect maple inlays in form of chain links can be found on both sides of the front pilasters. This exceptional "chain" effect is reinforced by so-called "Schwarlot" paintings - a technique which confers it this special depth.
