The composition of the painting is deliberately designed for reduction and corresponds to the idea of cultural minimalism and the new objectivity that developed in the 20th century. Mörscher chooses the rational, crystalline form of the representation of selected objects (vases, lemon, fruits?) and uses color as surface and line to create structure in the space.
In this composition, Mörscher reduces the classical means of perspective to create a pictorial space between object light and color.
The application of paint appears partially modeled. The natural crack and fissure network (Krakelee) of the sometimes layered paint application seems to be deliberately achieved.
The selection of the depicted objects is possibly also based on symbolic aspects. After the desolation of the war years, the painting speaks of the color world of the spirit of optimism of the 1950s.

Biography
Franz Mörscher was born on November 7th, 1931 in Bundenbach and died on July 14th, 2018 in Neunkirchen (Saar). Besides the sculptor Hubert Nietsch, he was the second artist to set a monument to the miner’s cow in public space in Germany from 1993 to 1995. Franz Mörscher studied from 1951 at the School of Arts and Crafts Saarbrücken with Boris Kleint among others in the subjects of painting and sculpture. In Autumn 1998, after the trees around Fondation Beyeler and in the Berower Park had shed their leaves, Christo and Jeanne-Claude wrapped 162 trees—some up to 25 meters high—with 55,000 square meters of polyester fabric and 23 kilometers of rope. The effect of light and weather on the translucent material created a kind of amorphous sculptural choreography, an ever-changing variety of shapes, surfaces, and colors. The fabric, used every winter in Japan to protect trees from frost and heavy snow, lent the trees the appearance of precious and fragile objects.

Zebra Rug Hand Knotted in Style of Art Deco Design

A Zebra design rug, contemporary production, in style of Art Deco, hand knotted, using finest Tibetan highland wool.
Very fine wool and quality.

A real eye catcher. The zebra pattern on this rug is based on a design from the 1920s. In the Art Deco era, "animal" patterns were very popular. At various auction houses, including Sotheby's London and Lyon & Turnbull Glasgow, the designs for these pieces from the 1920s were assigned to the English architect Oliver Hill (1887 - 1968), who is said to have had such carpets made in Tiensin in North China for Nichols of London. Unfortunately we cannot find any evidence of this. We produce these carpets as a new edition in the classic size of 200 x 120 cm / 7 x 4 ft. Other formats are also possible on request.
