About

Peter's history in a nutshell. Peter van den Borne has been painting and drawing since he was ten. He took his first steps in the painter's craft with his own interpretation of the Night Watch. There are now many realistic works of his hand, including still lifes and paintings after models. Contemporary Realism in particular is a movement in which Peter wants to conquer his own place. In 1983, Peter decides to enroll at "DACA" the Drenthe academy for painting. where he was taught by Vrielink, Jacobi and Dillen. In 1985 Peter Dillen started his own business, and Peter followed him because his way of teaching was particularly appealing. At the end of 1986 they parted ways and Peter specialized in the alchemical side of the painter's craft. Former paint manufacturer Johan Stahlecker guides him and teaches him the tricks of the trade around preparing surfaces, mediums, paint and impasto. Armed with this knowledge, and with an eye for all movements and forms of contemporary art, Peter continues his artist path. In addition to painting, Peter has a great interest in the awareness process that takes shape in his life and work in a creative way. Only since 2003 Van den Borne has been engaged fulltime working in painting. He has his own painting school in which he part-time teaches contemporary realism and uses the rest of the time making free work. The basis for his work is the universal idea that everything comes from the need to be connected. His works don't scream out but touches you by the peace and tranquility. This high quality work is directly form the artist’s studio. The work is neatly framed and signed. His artworks are highly collected.
