This beautiful and truly artistic Art Deco table lamp comes with the signature "Etling France" and model number.
Edmond Laurent Etling (23 June 1878 – around 1940) was a French art dealer, gallery owner, designer and a manufacturer of high-quality decorative objects made of bronze, ceramics and art glass in the Art Deco style.
His company La Societe Anonyme Edmond Etling, founded in Paris in 1909, manufactured decorative objects and commissioned sculptors and artists, including Georges Béal, Demétre Chiparus, Claire Colinet, Armand Godard, Geneviève Granger, Marcel Guillard, Maurice Guiraud-Rivière, Géza Hiecz, Fanny Rozet, and Lucille Sévin. Other artists that worked with Etling for casting their statuettes included Aurore Onu, Marcel Bouraine, Pierre Le Faguays, Raymonde Guerbe and André Vincent Becquerel.
Etling is known for light blue opalescent objects such as plates and bowls, which were also produced in gray and frosted glass. Most items bore the cast signature "Etling France" followed by a model number related to the Choisy-le-Roi catalogue. In 1910, Etling was awarded the diplome d'honneur at Brussels International (1910). In 1923, he was awarded the Grand Prix in Paris. In 1940, Etling closed his shop due to World War II. Because Etling was of Jewish descent, he was sent to a Nazi concentration camp, where he died.

The elaborately carved walnut case stands 155cm from the octagonal base and is topped by a foliage wreath. The imposing size and great quality make this an exceptional clock. The fine woodcarvings are unusually to be seen on both sides of the case, suggesting that this clock was intended as the centrepiece of a room, or to be placed in front of a mirror. The movement hangs on a compensated grid pendulum, mounted to a gilded drum with gilded bezels on the front and rear and functions as the pendulum. Decoration : The Rosewood Frame has four chamfered edges each with a Berlin wool-work style climbing rose inside two pairs of banded keylines. The frame is filled with a 'petit point' needlework pad of stylised geometric pattern; the whole sits on four large bun feet
Condition : Good with regard to tile completeness - one patch of four contiguous missing tesserae and some singles lost; one of the corners has lost 8-10 pieces; one corner of the pad is a little threadbare and there's another square of four missing stitches; the base still has it's original lining paper affixed, but has a split across its entire width; this does not affect the stability of the piece and is, obviously, underneath so only becomes apparent should you turn the thing over,

19th Century Black Forest Carved Mantle Clock Spill Vase Garniture Set

A magnificent antique Black Forest carved three piece mantel clock and garniture set. circa 1880
Swiss or German, late 19th century, a truly extraordinary work of art, exceptionally executed, intricately sculpted and finely detailed throughout, hand carved from a single block of wood, featuring a leaping stag deer over elaborate naturalistic foliage, a pair of pheasants with inset glass eyes, wooden dial with gilt incised Roman numeral hour markers and eight day time-and-strike movement, sculptural interwoven root carvings on a conforming molded edge base, flanked by a hunting dog and mountain rescue dog, both with inset glass eyes, retaining the original pressed glass spill vases.
A spill vase was typically kept on the mantelpiece and filled with spills, splints, or tapers used to transfer fire from the fireplace to candles, lamps, a pipe or a cigar.
