This timeless and elegant French Chistofle vintage ice or champagne bucket is Mid-Century Modern. It is hallmarked on the bottom with the Christofle France mark and Orfevre makers mark. it reads Coll Gallia from that particular collection. This is an early piece late 50s or early 60s. It has great gage of weight and the 4 step pedestal base makes for an Art Deco to transitional to modern look. This was the original production. This exceptional antique Victorian sterling silver goblet has a circular bell shaped form onto a knopped stem and circular spreading foot.
The body of this large silver goblet is embellished with bright cut engraved suspended leaf festoons accented with ribbon bow motifs and interlacing swags.
The decoration to the body incorporates a large oval vacant cartouche to either side.
The upper portion of the goblet is encompassed with bright cut engraved interlacing and scalloped borders below an applied moulded rim.
The knop to the stem is encircled with a bead decorated border.
The foot is ornamented with further bright cut engraved simplified leaf festoon decoration accented with a scalloped border to the rim.
This exceptional and large silver goblet retains the original gilded interior.
