This colorful Majolica pitcher was sculpted in Saint Clement, France, circa 1890; named "Le Canard Sortant de l'Oeuf", the charming ceramic olive oil jug with spout thru the mouth and top cork, is in the shape of a colorful young duck exiting an egg shell. The oil recipient is hand painted with a small duckling chasing a butterfly. The jug, stamped on the bottom "Saint Clement France", is in excellent condition with rich patinated colors in the blue, green and yellow palette.
