Cording under the bobèche is shaped in traditional passementerie knotted detail. Custom sizes available.The art of passementerie dated back to the 15th century, the excitement and popularity of the craft surged in the 18th century during the reign of Louis the XIV and Versailles, every pieces of fabrics, upholstery, bridles, carriages were beautified with the uses of braids, tassles, trims and fringes. The military also took a liking to this trend throughout the ensuing decades.
Unlike many other tradeguilds which fell into oblivion, the passementerie has thrived and remains present in the home with detailed trims but specially in the haute couture runways.

This one of a kind lamp could create the perfect atmosphere in a small entrance or bedroom or in any other small living space. It comes with the original black chain and black metal canopy and the bulb can easily be replaced by unscrewing three black screws on the gallery of this fixture. This design will look great in almost every interior and it is rewired for safe and immediate usage in the USA as well.
