About the Item

Harry Bertoia Italian artist and furniture designer, Harry Bertoia`s career began in the 1930s as a student at the Cranbrook Academy of Art where he re-established the metal-working studio and, taught as head of the department, from 1939 until 1943 until it was closed due to wartime restrictions on materials. Bertoia designed the patented Diamond chair for Knoll in 1952. Knoll Bertoia diamond lounge chair 1952 Design The Diamond chair has become one of the most recognized chair designs of the twentieth century and has been in constant production since 1952. Restored in 2-tone black and white. Full original Knoll cushions and reproduction cushions also available. 2 available.
