Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman by Herman Miller, circa 1950

About the Item

The Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman, designed by Charles and Ray Eames, is a timeless and iconic piece of furniture that embodies comfort, craftsmanship, and modern design. Manufactured by Herman Miller in Zeeland, United States, this particular chair is an original piece in good condition, showcasing a beautiful patina that adds character to its leather upholstery. The chair features a distinctive design with a molded plywood shell, plush leather cushions, and a sleek metal base. The leather upholstery has developed an extraordinary patina over time, enhancing its visual appeal. It is worth noting that there are some cracks in the leather, as shown in the provided photos, which adds to the chair's vintage charm and authenticity. This Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman has undergone professional restorations. One restoration was performed by Herman Miller in 1969, ensuring that the chair remained in optimal condition. Additionally, our team made a later restoration by adding a pair of screws to the structure of the armrests, providing extra stability to the piece. These modifications are discreet and seamlessly integrated into the design, almost indistinguishable from the original. Crafted from wood, leather, and metal, this chair combines natural materials with modern aesthetics. The overall dimensions of the chair are making it a comfortable and visually striking addition to any living space. The seat height offers an ideal seating position. The Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman were designed to provide a warm and inviting seating experience. Charles and Ray Eames aimed to create a design that resembled the comforting feel of a well-used first baseman's mitt. The lounge chair and ottoman offer a refuge from the strains of modern living, embodying both style and comfort. Since its debut on national television in 1956, the Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman have gained immense popularity while remaining true to their original design and craftsmanship. This authentic piece captures the essence of the Eames' vision and serves as a testament to their lasting influence in the world of furniture design. Whether placed in a living room, study, or lounge area, the Eames Lounge Chair and Ottoman are sure to make a statement, providing a luxurious and inviting seating option for relaxation and style. • Mario Bellini 'Cab' Lounge Chair, by Cassina
    By Cassina, Mario Bellini
    Located in Barcelona, Barcelona
Loounge chair designed by Mario Bellini in 2015. Manufactured by Cassina in Italy. Roomy and inviting, Cab Lounge is a restatement of the Cab chair concept. Nothing short of a masterpiece of craftsmanship, the Cab Lounge armchair is perfectly suited to both residential or contract use. The leather upholstery fits the tubular steel frame like an exquisitely tailored garment, complementing the curves, in a perfect symbiosis between the structural and the organic.
