About the Item

A beautiful “Cigar” sofa, model GE240, designed by Hans J. Wegner and manufactured by Getama in Denmark around 1950. This highly recognizable piece is made of excellent quality oak wood in a lovely light brown colour. The seat and back cushions are upholstered in blue fabric, nicely contrasting to the frame and adding to it’s modern appeal. The backwards tilted seat combined with the soft cushioning and solid armrests all make this sofa very comfortable as well. The straight shapes with quality finish and gently tapered legs are typical for mid-century Scandinavian and makes this sofa a highly recognizable Wegner design! Marked on the frame as shown in photos.
