About the Item

Model no. X601 is a modernist classic, designed by Alvar Aalto in 1954. This versatile piece is lightweight, yet sturdy and easy to use in both public and private spaces as a stool or a small side table. The warm, organic feel of Finnish birch combined with clean, geometric shapes make this stool a classic example of Alvar Aalto’s minimalist, functional furniture design. Produced by Artek in the 1960’s, this stool features a veneered ash seat with laminated bent birch legs, in the shape of a fan. Original stamp underneath the seat.
