About the Item

Beloved creative duo Alvar and Aino Aalto designed this rare hanging cabinet/hutch and credenza (model 808) in the 1940s. We know that these two pieces were produced shortly after World War II at the Aalto's factory in Hedemora, Sweden, and to the best of our knowledge that is the extent of their production. The hutch top has original glass doors and can be mounted on the wall or sit nicely on top of the cabinet. Each piece is marked with the Finsven logo an early importer of Aalto furniture. We had the credenza and hanging cabinet lightly restored to preserve their 80 year patina and original golden lacquer.
