1940s Gilbert Rohde 3-Drawer Dresser in Mahogany and Leatherette Refinished

About the Item

This is a 3-drawer dresser with a black and white checkerboard facade, designed by Gilbert Rohde for Herman Miller's 4140 collection in 1941. The chest features three padded drawers which retain their original white and black ‘Fabrikoid’ leather/cloth, and the mahogany case has been ebonized and refinished. The drawers have dovetail joinery, and the piece is solidly made. This chest measures 44.5 inches long, 18.5 inches wide, and 34.75 inches high. The leatherette drawer faces have no tears, but do show some light discoloration and visible scuffs. The wood case looks terrific, having been freshly redone. Overall, this piece is in very good condition with some wear apparent. Please see photos. Genuinely faulty goods will be replaced or money refunded on a case by case basis, however we must be advised of any faulty goods upon receipt of the item. It is the customer's responsibility to pay for return shipping and ship the item back to us. If the item is found to be faulty, we will also refund the postage cost. It is at our discretion to refuse the refund of undamaged goods. If an order is placed and you would like to cancel the order, please notify us immediately. Any refunds will be processed via the same means that payment was made.
