About the Item

This is an original ‘Tea Trolley 901’ Serving Cart, designed in 1936 by Aino and Alvar Aalto for Artek. The piece was manufactured in Finland circa 1950s. The strong frame is made from birch which has been bent. The top and bottom trays are of form-pressed birch plywood, and the top has a white ceramic tile surface. The wheels are lined with rubber to give it a smooth ride. This cart measures 19.68 inches long, 35.43 inches wide, and is 22 inches tall. We have not attempted to refinish the wood, and there are some nicks and scuffs. There is a small crack in the tiles and some wear on the bottom, and there are some notches on the rubber gaskets. Overall, this true collector’s item is in good original condition with age apparent. Please see photos.
