If you look at the photos provided you will see the attention to detail within the intricately done hand painted Chinoiserie gold and scarlet lacquered decorations as well as the extremely fine and crisp bronze ormolu mounts. The piece is also signed underneath of the desk. Pierre Migeon (1696-1758) Was one of the most prominent furniture makers of the 18th century and was known for for his impeccable quality as well as his ability to work with a variety of other extremely well known cabinet makers of the 18th C. Throughout his career a few very important people took a liking to his works and commissioned pieces from him such as Madame de pompadour and the Master of the Revels!
