Exceptional one-of-a-kind large aquamarine diamond and black onyx necklace attributed to Mauboussin Paris and set in 18 karat yellow gold. This impressive necklace is a vintage creation dating to 1980s and is emblematic of the bold French high-jewelry glamour of that era. A large aquamarine of approximately 24 carats is the highlight of the necklace center pendant and features an ever-elegant emerald-step-cut. The aquamarine displays a rich and lively blue color that lights up beautifully as the necklace is worn. It is also characterized by fine clarity. The vivid aquamarine gemstone floats on top of oval 18 karat yellow gold base which is masterfully inlaid with black onyx and encrusted with sparkling fine white diamonds. The rest of the necklace is composed of elegant oval links, surface of which is accentuated with finely crafted ridges, and diamond set short links in between them. Altogether, the diamonds total approximately 5 carats. The juxtaposition of vivid blue aquamarine against elegant black onyx and a sumptuous frame of glittering diamonds in the pendant, along with the finely crafted necklace links, all make for an incredibly sophisticated and chic statement jewel. The necklace is in excellent condition and bears French hallmarks of the period including a maker’s mark for Péry & Fils which was one of the main jewelry makers for Mauboussin Paris. Also available under separate listings are a bracelet and earrings from the same jewelry suite.

An unusual Kinetic pendant-brooch
Very interesting and unusual sculptural piece, made in Italy back in the 1970. This enigmatic artist-studio geometric pendant has been carefully crafted in solid yellow gold of 18 karats. It is suited with a discrete bale to display in a chain and a horizontal hinged pin to use as a brooch.
The design is made up of two offset semicircles, which are crossed by movable straight and semi-curved elements that rotate on their axis, that activate gently with the wearer’s every movement The way to use it is inclined at 35 o.
Mount in the center in a four-prongs setting, with a cushion cabochon cut (12 x 14 x 6 mm) of a natural light green jade of 9.66 carats and accented with 10 European round cut diamonds, 0.08 carats, F/G color, SI-1 clarity.
Has a total weight of 28.2 Grams and a measures of 55 mm by 49 mm (2.16 x 1.93 Inches).
Stamped, with the maker's mark and the gold assay hallmark, "ITALY 18 KT".

During the 18th and 19th centuries, pendant necklaces evolved from their status as spiritual amulets, but the jewels still carried deep personal significance. Victorian pendants, in particular, were part of the “mourning jewelry” tradition. Wearers would embed their pendants with locks of hair from a deceased loved one as a way of grieving in the wake of a loss. In the case of cameo jewelry, some pendants were even decorated with miniature hand-carved portraits in a detailed raised relief. Today, portraiture is still a characteristic of many of the hand-carved pendant necklaces offered by Italian jewelry house Scala Gioielli.
