This fine and impressive seed pearl necklace has been crafted in 18k yellow gold.
This unusual and desirable pendant is embellished with two feature articulated bud style drops, each supporting three suspended pearl terminals.
Each bud design is ornamented with five seed pearls, graduating in size dependent on location.
The differing length bud drops are suspended via a yellow gold chain, incorporating equidistant seed pearls; the longer chain bears three pearls and the shorter features two pearls.
The asymmetrical, Art Nouveau style interlacing design to the apex of the pendant is embellished with thirty-one graduating seed pearls.
The feature setting of this Victorian seed pearl necklace is suspended from an 18k yellow gold trace chain via two integrated ring loops.
The chain features six further seed pearls and secures to the reverse with a link loop fastening.

Berlin iron jewelry was produced in Germany by the Berlin Royal Foundry beginning in 1804. Previously, iron jewelry had been worn primarily during periods of mourning due to the dark color of its black lacquer finish. However, it reached a high point of popularity between 1813 and 1830. To fund the War of Liberation against Napolean, citizens were asked to donate their precious gold in exchange for iron jewelry. The Berlin iron jewelry was sometimes inscribed with a portrait of Frederick William III of Prussia, or with the words "Gold gab ich für Eisen" (meaning "I gave gold for iron") or "Für das Wohl des Vaterlands" ("For the welfare of our country/fatherland"). Almost overnight, Berlin iron jewelry became a symbol of patriotism. Its beautiful fabrication and lacy appearance gave it widespread appeal, eventually reaching popularity in numerous European countries. Authentic Berlin iron jewelry is now very rare, and well-preserved pieces have become very collectible!
Cut steel jewelry originated in England in the 17th century and subsequently spread throughout Europe, eventually becoming a popular style of jewelry worn by members of high society during the Victorian era. Made of polished faceted steel studs, the pieces were cut by hand and then assembled and riveted onto a metal back. The faceted steel elements give this type of jewelry a subtle, metallic glitter that resembles cut gemstones. Motifs varied from the simple to the sublime, with multiple layers and densely packed studs. The time-consuming process and the artistry required to create cut steel jewelry made it very valuable and highly sought-after during the Victorian age, particularly to wear during the stage of "secondary mourning." Produced up until the turn of the 19th century, antique cut steel jewelry is now highly collectible.

A gold and silver pendant in the Renaissance Revival style, the main element composed of an ornately carved openwork architectural structure in the form of an altarpiece, the central niche surmounted by a cupola set with pearls, with scroll and scalloped details to the interior and suspending a fleur-de-lis, containing a figure of Saint Cecelia playing a viola da gamba with two dancing putti to either side, flanked by two smaller raised pedestals issuing fleur-de-lis, each set with a putto (one playing a harp, the other playing a triangle), suspending a double swagged gold chain set with pearls, with two further chains suspending on one side a circular lapis lazuli seal in a trumpet form mount and on the other a watch winder, the whole accented with blue enamel and set to the reverse with a hinged band loop, approximately 9.5cm in total length. Tested yellow gold and silver, French, circa 1850.
François Désiré Froment-Meurice (1802-1855) was one of the most important French jewellery and silversmiths of the nineteenth century, described by Victor Hugo as the Cellini of his age. He exhibited in a number of International Exhibitions, where Queen Victoria and Prince Albert were among his clients. The Renaissance Revival, as seen here, and the Gothic Revival were his two major decorative styles. This piece is also typical of his penchant for placing a silver figure, usually female, within a yellow gold architectural mount. The central figure and flanking putti are identical to those found on two brooches by Froment-Meurice, one in the Birmingham Museum and one in the Schmuckmuseum Pforzheim. Another brooch by Froment-Meurice, in the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum, features a similar central figure, but this time as an angel with wings, in a silver oval blue enamelled frame. These examples also bear a similar gold and blue enamel architectural mount, and differ only in the surrounding and pendulant embellishments.

Octagonal shaped with an openwork circle pattern and studded with natural pearls, this pendant holds a cameo on 4-layered agate representing the left profile of a bust woman. The back opens like a medallion to incorporate a photo or lock of hair.
For the brooch, the hanging system is a pin with safety hook. The latter bends and the pin unscrews to allow the jewel to be worn as a pendant. The removable bail is in the shape of an openwork lily flower.

This stunning, fine and impressive antique pendant / brooch with pearls has been crafted in 18k yellow gold.
The oval shaped frame is ornamented to the centre with a stunning 20.61Ct cameo hardstone, depicting a female figure draped in fabric and leaning against a pillar.
The hardstone panel is framed by a scrolling yellow gold border accented with twenty-seven natural and seed pearl graduating in size.
A further impressive pearl terminates and articulates from the lower border of the stunning design within a trifurcating setting.
The upper border of the antique cameo brooch is embellished with pierced decorated scalloped ornamentation in addition to impressive curvilinear banner style motif.
The brooch secures to the reverse with a hinged pin and clasp.
This stunning and versatile antique brooch can also be worn as a pendant via a later attached bale to the reverse of the setting, suspending from a contemporary 9k yellow gold 45.72cm/18" curb.
This antique cameo pendant has been independently tested using state of the art technology (Niton XL2 Analyzer) and verified as 18 karat gold.
This impressive brooch / pendant is supplied with an independent diamond grading report card.
