Baram 28
By Geonwoo Lee
Located in Goyang-si, KR
The word "Baram" has two meanings in Korean: "wish (feel or express a strong desire or hope for something that is not easily attainable)" and "wind (the perceptible natural movement of the air)." The "Baram Series" portrays the moment of the air that's stopped in a simple two-dimensional form. Thus, the wind in the Baram Series represents the "present", which means the wind that has already blown represents the "past", and the wind that is about to blow represents the "future". Our wind in the past may be calm...

As One - Gold Leaf and Minerals, Astronomy Painting, Stars, Outer Space, Science
By Maria Mitsumori
Located in Tokyo, JP
An original mineral painting, made with 3 layers of 24k gold leaves, natural and synthetic minerals, and sea shells (calcium carbonate) on Japanese washi paper mounted on a wood panel. Natural colors include gemstones or precious and semi-precious stones such as azurite (deep ocean blue). Because these substances consist of unique chemical and physical properties, every artwork has unique characteristics and a story to tell, with a sense of connection to the earth. It is highly textured with a matt and rich sand-like appearance. I wanted to let the materials speak as much as the story. Not necessarily in a loud manner, but to communicate the value of authenticity and how they play together as one big piece of jewelry. Beneath all the complex minerals, there are 3 layers of 24k gold leaves covering the entire 80 cm surface. When light passes through various dimensions, hints of gold reveal its presence and brighten the surrounding dark colors in an incredibly mesmeric way. Just like the stars in the sky, you may not see them at times but when they do, they surely brighten up the sky. In mint condition, Certificate of Authenticity included and calligraphy seal in front, hand-signed at the back. Sold unframed and Ready to hang (eye bolt and string mounted at the back). Artist: Maria Mitsumori...

Furaha Moja - Japanese Gold Leaf and Minerals, 3D Textured Abstract Painting
By Maria Mitsumori
Located in Tokyo, JP
This original abstract painting is a 2 piece set, sold individually. Both are highly textured mineral paintings, made with Japanese blue-gold leaves, natural and synthetic minerals and partially resin on Japanese paper mounted on a wood panel. Natural colors include gemstones or precious and semi-precious stones, such as green agate (deep matcha green). Because these substances consist of unique chemical and physical properties, every artwork has unique characteristics and a story to tell, with a sense of connection to the earth. All 4 sides are painted with a 3D-like appearance. It has a matt, sand-like texture for mineral areas and a smooth texture for resin areas. "Furaha" means joy and happiness in the Swahili language. Inspired by the rich culture and extraordinary land of South Africa, the artist expresses an environment of respect for differences in traditions and values, each existence as an independent entity. These duo pieces are part of the artist's continuous research on the Four Color Theorem or the Four Color Map Theorem of mathematics, which states that no more than four colors are required to color the regions of any map so that no two adjacent regions have the same color. In mint condition, Certificate of Authenticity included and calligraphy seal in front, hand-signed at the back. Sold unframed and ready to hang (eye bolt and string mounted at the back). Our wind in the past may be calm or turbulent. Regardless, the present is filled with hope, strongly wishing for the future wind to guide us to happiness. Maybe, these winds in our lives are dictated by our choices, and Baram Series embodies wish to deliver hope to all viewers facing the winds of their choices. <Geonwoo Lee...
