By Glossner AB, Arvid Böhlmarks Lampfabrik
Located in Stockholm, SE
Swedish Art Deco Scones by Arno Glossner for Bohlmarks, Sweden, 1938. Actually an object that should belong in a design museum. In Arno Glössner's glass etching, one could discern an era marked by profound societal upheavals and the looming threat of World War II. The artwork resonates with the imagery of Leviathan, a colossal sea monster resembling a massive fish or whale. In various mythologies, Leviathan is portrayed as one of the most formidable creatures of the sea, sometimes associated with Triton, the sea god, as its master. However, depictions and interpretations of Leviathan vary across different traditions and sources, adding layers of complexity to its symbolism. "Leviathan" is a groundbreaking book in political philosophy, authored by the English philosopher Thomas Hobbes...

The Shelley Light Sculpture, by Jakob Uhlin for By Republiken
By Jakob Uhlin, By Republiken
Located in Grythyttan, SE
The Shelley Light, by Jakob Uhlin for By Republiken is artisanally made of recycled plastic. The triangular components constituting the pendant lamp create a captivating and faceted appearance, offering an intriguing visual impression. The lamp's three openings add a compelling three-dimensional aspect to its design. Light diffuses uniquely from various angles, providing a dynamic illumination experience. An inner shade, crafted from the same triangular building pieces, shields the light source. Our process involves collecting used household containers made of polypropylene plastics, commonly used for food containers. After thorough washing, a hand-driven punch is employed to meticulously cut out the triangular building pieces from these recycled plastic containers. This sustainable process gives new life to materials that would otherwise be discarded. Every lamp sculpture is unique because each one features different images on their inside. CUSTOMIZABLE If you’re interested in a variation or customization that is not currently listed, please inquire directly so we can discuss your specifications. Size, color and shape are variables that can be customized. The images displaying the smaller globular and pyramid shapes can give you an idea of the versatility of colors and shapes.
