Some of these works have beautiful Hebrew calligraphy and mod imagery, animals and such that are not usually found in his work. This is a masterpiece of bold, graphic, mod design. Along with Reuven Rubin and Menashe Kadishman he is among Israel's best known artists internationally.
Biographical info: The son of a rabbi, Yaacov Agam can trace his ancestry back six generations to the founder of the Chabad movement in Judaism. in 1946, he entered the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem. Studying with Mordecai Ardon, a former student at the Weimar Bauhaus. Yaakov Agam has been associated h with “abstract” artists, “hard edge” artists, and artists such as Josef Albers and Max Bill. Others find in Agam’s work an indebtedness to the masters of the Bauhaus. Agam’s approach to art, being conceptual in nature, has been likened to Marcel Duchamp’s, who expressed the need to put art “at the service of the spirit.” And, because of Agam’s employment of color and motion in his art, he has been compared to Alexander Calder, the artist who put sculpture into motion. (Motion is not an end, but a means for Agam. Calder’s mobiles are structures that are fixed, revolving at the whim of the wind. In a work by Agam, the viewer must intervene.) Agam has also been classified as an “op art” artist because he excels in playing with our visual sensitivities. Agam went to Zurich to study with Johannes Itten at the Kunstgewerbeschule. There, he met Frank Lloyd Wright and Siegfried Giedion, whose ideas on the element of time in art and architecture impressed him. In 1955, Galerie Denise René hosted a major group exhibition in connection with Vasarely's painting experiments with movement. in addition to art by Vasarely, it included works by Yaacov Agam, Pol Bury, Soto and Jean Tinguely, among others. Most Americans were first introduced to Vasarely by the groundbreaking exhibition, "The Responsive Eye," at New York's Museum of Modern Art in 1965. Josef Albers, Richard Anuszkiewicz. The show confirmed Vasarely's international reputation as the father of Op art. Agam has sought to express his ideas in a non-static form of art. In his abstract Kinetic works, which range from paintings and graphics to sculptural installations and building facades. The seldom seen complete set of 7 works accompanied by both original portfolio covers, makes for a standout addition to any 1980’s New York graffiti collection.
Medium: 7 individual screen-prints in colors on fine, deckle-edged Stonehenge paper; plus a screen-printed portfolio cover on heavy matte paper. 1995.
Each work individually measures: 14 x 11 inches (35.6 x 27.9 cm).
Each hand-signed & numbered in pencil by the respective artists from an edition of 100 (5 works signed & numbered frontside; with Futura & Lady Pink signed & numbered on the reverse).
Condition:
Prints: Some very minor signs of handling; rubbing on the right lower edge of Zephyr; in otherwise very good overall vintage condition as pictured. Superb overall print quality & color separation. Fine archival paper.
Portfolio casing (last image) contains some minor signs of aging & handling.

Dondi White:
Dondi was an American graffiti artist best known for his dynamic lettering and stick figures. His work, whether painted on canvas or on walls, is characterized by a dynamic energy and explosive use of color. Dondi became associated with a group of legendary artists working in the East Village, including Futura, Keith Haring, and Jean-Michel Basquiat. His canvas works reiterated the lettering, symbolic icons, and stick figures that were his signature marks on the streets, while his later work from the 1990s included collages that juxtaposed pencil drawings with blueprints of the subway system—which had previously served as his canvas.
Futura:
Futura 2000 is a contemporary American graffiti artist. Over the course of his career, he transitioned from making New York-based subway graffiti in the early 1970s, to exhibiting at Fun Gallery in the 1980s alongside major artists such as Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring, and Kenny Scharf. He went on to collaborate with the punk band The Clash, designing their album art and performing live graffiti during their concerts. Today, McGurr’s work can be found in the collections of the Museo de Arte Moderna di Bologna, the Musée de Vire in France, and the Museum of the City of New York.

Anna Harley is a professional fine art screen-printer, making prints at Spike Print Studio in Bristol. She has a Masters Degree in Multi-Disciplinary Printmaking and lives in South Bristol. Her handmade prints are produced in limited editions, so each print is an original artwork, not a reproduction of an artwork made in a different medium. She says, "the screenprinting process suits my practice, because it allows me to build images in fine layers of ink, printing layer upon layer until I am happy with the final print. I use a combination of drawing, digital photography and objects directly exposed on the screen, to create these individual layers. I enjoy the tension this creates in my images – is the print based on a drawing or photograph? Is it attached fabric, pencil marks or ink? While engaged in the creative process, I try to stay open minded about how the finished print will look, to allow the print to make itself – print is an extremely process led way of making art and allowing the unexpected to happen and taking advantage of these happy accidents allows the work to stay fresh and exciting." She is inspired by how it feels to be outside, tree silhouettes, passing seasons, the weather, and the sky and how it changes from sunrise to evening. "I love things that sparkle and twinkle. I often use metallic pigments and, in a move that fully embraced my inner kitsch, I have recently made a snow print using white glitter. The black & white deck marks a collaboration between Takashi Murakami and his friend, the rising Japanese artist 'Madsaki' (bio below). The impression is an urban twist on Takashi Murakami’s otherwise highly polished flowers motif - a beautiful juxtaposition between two very different styles from two masters of their craft. This limited work was published by Murakami’s Kaikai Kiki Gallery Japan in 2017. The blue was published circa 2017 in conjunction with the Murakami exhibit: The Octopus Eats Its Own Leg, MCA Chicago. Perhaps Murakami's most iconic motif, these candy-colored, smiling flowers came into the artist's work when he was preparing for his entrance exams for the Tokyo National University of Fine Arts, and he embraced the form over nine years teaching prep-school students to draw flowers.
One of the most acclaimed artists to emerge from postwar Asia, Takashi Murakami—“the Warhol of Japan”—is known for his contemporary Pop synthesis of fine art and popular culture, particularly his use of a boldly graphic and colorful anime and manga cartoon style.
MADSAKI (b. Japan 1974)

Born: 1930, Sagua la Grande, Matanzas, Cuba.
Studies: Between 1955-1957 he studied at the Elementary School of Applied Plastic Arts attached to the Academy of Fine Arts San Alejandro, in Havana, Cuba.
Experience: Member of the Association of Cuban Recorders and teaches several drawing and engraving courses at the National School of Art Instructors. In 1965 he entered the Graphic Experimental Workshop of Havana. In 1993 he teaches a mural ceramic course at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Tenerife in the Canary Islands, working in turn at the Giuseppe Mazzotti Museum House 1903 in Albissola Mare, Italy.
Exhibitions: It is included in the 1959 annual Salon, Palace of Fine Arts, Havana. He made the first personal exhibition of importance in 1967 with oil-collages and ceramics in the Havana gallery. In 1973 he placed on the mezzanine floor of the Habana Libre Hotel a mural composed of 555 pieces of ceramics started since 1971. In 1997 he presented Sosabravo, The Guardian of the Small, in the Art Gallery, Madrid, Spain. In 2001 he exhibited graphic and painting works in El Comune de Orvieto Italia, in the Sala Conca de la Laguna, Tenerife and at the Feria de la Estampa in Madrid. In Cuba, he built the 10 m2 mural called Carnaval de la Habana for the Residencial América real estate. In 2002, Galería Cernuda Arte, Coral Gables, Florida, shows his works at the Art Miami Fair. In the United Kingdom he exhibited Murano glass oil paintings and sculptures. The Biennale di Ceramica nell'Arte Contemporary of Albissola Mare, Savona, invited him to participate with works that he would carry out in the San Giorgio da Poggi workshop. Emil Schumacher is among the best-known exponents of Art Informel in Germany. His painting style, which he initially developed in the 1950s under the influence of Wols, is marked by dark, brownish black or brilliant thick red colours and a graffiti like sign language that endow the pictures the expressive character of old cracked masonry.
Emil Schumacher (29 August 1912 in Hagen, Westfalen – 4 October 1999 in San José, Ibiza) was a German artist and painter. He was an important representative of abstract expressionism in post-war Germany.
As an 18-year-old, Emil Schumacher undertakes a four-week-long bicycle tour to Paris, France.
1932–1935: Studies graphic design at the School of Applied Arts in Dortmund intending to become a graphic designer in advertising.
1935–1939: Independent artist without participating in exhibits. He undertakes study trips by bicycle to the Netherlands and Belgium.
1939–1945: Service obligation as draftsman in an arms factory, the Akkumulatoren–Werke of Hagen.
Since 1945: Immediately after end of war, new start as independent artist.

A screen print, also known as a silkscreen or serigraph, is made by cutting out pieces of paper (or textile) and placing them on a mesh sheath, or screen. With the help of a squeegee during the screen printing process, ink is forced through the uncovered areas of the mesh onto a sheet of paper. Each color must be screened separately.
Originally used in the commercial printing industry for advertising and packaging, screen printing is closely associated with the Pop aesthetic. Andy Warhol was the first artist to use the process to create art, and his silkscreens and other prints rank among the highest priced prints on the market.
For legendary Abstract Expressionist artist Jackson Pollock, printing was crucial to the evolution of his abstraction. It was several years after he printed wild constellations of blobs and squiggles, using a small printing screen that he acquired during a brief stint at a silkscreen workshop, that he began splattering canvases with similar abstract imagery.
For Jasper Johns, recognized as one of the most innovative, masterful print artists of all time, printmaking was ideal for exploring the ideas of repetition, seriality, patterning, semiotics, order and symbolism that intrigued him. His crosshatch prints (and paintings, for that matter) are a wonderful reference to the engraving process but also a brilliant conceptual update of Abstract Expressionist brushstroke, which Johns subverted again and again.
Remember, when it comes to arranging your screen prints and other wall art, hanging isn’t the only way to display your artworks. You can stand framed pieces and stretched canvases on an easel, a mantelpiece, floating shelves or on the floor leaning against a wall. This creates a casual look and also allows you to change your arrangements more easily and without damaging the wall.
