This chandelier from the 1960s by the Austrian designer J.T. Kalmar apparently more than deserves the name ice glass. The glass icicles lined up together form the lampshade of the chandelier and look amazingly similar to a real ice sculpture. When switched on and flooded with light, the ice glass casts beautiful shadow patterns on the surrounding walls and creates a cosy warmth in the room despite the icy sight.
J.T. Kalmar lived and worked in Austria and gained extensive design experience at an early age in his father's company, which specialized in candlesticks and other objects cast in bronze and which Kalmar later took over himself. The name Tulipan derives from the tulip shaped hand blown bubble glasses. Each glass is handmade and therefore a unique piece. Each sconce is made of a solid brass backplate and frame which holds 14 glasses with brass bolts.
Each fixture has five sockets for E14 candelabra base LEDs or bulbs (max. 40W per bulb).
Light bulbs are not included. It is possible to install this fixture in all countries (US, UK, Europe, Asia, Canada,) although it may be necessary to purchase different light bulbs suitable to local electricity. It also can be used with a dimmer.
This variant of Tulipan sconces with a brass backplate is absolutely rare.
The lamps are professionally cleaned and in very good condition with lovely patina. They are ready to use.
