Arts and Crafts Enameled Glass Pendant w. Floral Pattern & Wrought Iron Canopy
Located in Lisse, NL
Stunning work of lighting art with unique color and floral pattern. If you are passionate about early 20th century glass art in general and Arts & Crafts lighting in particular then you will love this one of a kind, art glass light fixture. What you are seeing here is an extremely rare, enameled glass pendant. This stylish and truly classy pendant is signed 'Selin' or 'Felin' or 'Gelin' and we cannot find another light by this, clearly very talented, maker anywhere else in the world. With late 19th and early 20th century lighting being one of our specialities, we can tell you that in our 30+ years of dealing in special fixtures, we have only seen fixtures of this quality and beauty by the likes of Galle and Schneider. Their fixtures were made with the exact same techniques that were used to create this antique work of art. Both the design and the colors make this unique light at least as impressive as the Galle and Schneider ones. What makes this unique light extra desirable is the original and also handcrafted and handpainted, wrought iron canopy. It is the perfect finish to this wonderful antique fixture. Apart from the perfectly matching, replacement mat black chain this one of a kind light fixture is over 100 years old and it is of such great quality and condition that it will at least be around for another 100 years. One fine day this unique pendant could grace the collection of a museum, but until then you could be its first next custodian. Mind you, this pendant has been professionally rewired to the highest standard for safe and immediate usage in the USA as well. Because of the warm and pleasant color that it radiates this, to us, is the perfect, serene pendant...

Frederic Weinberg Bird Cage Shaped Planter Hanging Fixture with Onion Dome Top
Located in Chicago, IL
This bird cage shaped hanging fixture was originally designed by Frederic Weinberg as a planter. A slight variation of this design was also available as an actual bird cage, but I can find no reference to it having been offered by Frederic Weinberg as a ceiling fixture. So I assume it was converted to a hanging fixture for its original owner, where it hung in the center of a circular staircase. The form is of a stylized tower with an onion dome...

Suspension in wrought iron and bluish glass paste speckled with green, orange and pink. Wrought iron frame, electrified and in perfect condition. Total height: 70cm Cutting diameter: 41 cm Weight: 6.5 kg You can contact me for more information and delivery costs. Jean Noverdy, master glassmaker who mainly produced chandeliers, table lamps in the Art Nouveau style sometimes with bronze frames, a few vases and Art Deco wall sconces in the 1925s in Dijon. In the 1920s, Jean Noverdy created lamps with shades most often in glass with two layers between which he sprayed colored enamels to give a marmoreal look. Vases and molded glass shades are also part of his production. The same techniques used by Daum Frères, André Delatte and Muller Frères in this period. He also created vases and etched acid tones in the style of the Nancy school. Between 1926 and 1928, he was present at the Salon of the Society of French Artists in Paris. It produced under the corporate name: Etablissements Jean Noverdy. His workshops were located at 17 Place Bossuet, Dijon. He was a pupil of Henri Dubret...

Edgar Brandt and Daum Nancy Art Deco Chandelier
Located in NANTES, FR
Art deco wrought iron chandelier with ginkgo biloba leaf decoration, circa 1925. 4 tulips and a central glass paste shell signed Daum Nancy. Frame stamped E Brandt. Chandelier electrified and in perfect condition. This chandelier will be disassembled and sent in two separate boxes. One for the glass and another for the frame. Height: 86cm Frame diameter: 42 cm Shell diameter: 27 cm Weight: 12kg You can contact me for more information and for delivery costs. Daum (French establishment created in 1878) is a glass and crystal workshop located in Nancy. Founded by the industrialist and notary Jean Daum, the workshop was then taken over by his sons Auguste and Antonin, who ran it during the Art Nouveau period. It was not until the Universal Exhibition of 1900 that the company was at the forefront of the decorative art scene, when Daum received the prestigious Grand Prix medal. At this time, Daum glass became more complex, acid treatment was often used in the cutting, enameling and etching of a piece to produce glass masterpieces. Daum also produces applied glass elements, such as handles and ornamental motifs in naturalistic shapes. The Daum brothers quickly became big names in Art Nouveau, rivaling the famous designer Émile Gallé, and established themselves as leaders in the field of decorative glass after his death. In 1906, Daum revived glass paste, a process by which glass is transformed into paste, then it is applied to the surface of a mold and fired. This technique originates from ancient Egypt. Today, Daum is the only industrial crystal manufacturer that uses the glass paste process for its glass objects and crystal sculptures. Following the First World War, Paul Daum began to develop works in the Art Deco style, moving away from naturalistic forms and turning to linear, angular, simplified forms and geometric patterns characteristic of the movement. After the Second World War, Henri and Michel Daum became interested in the transparency of glass and pure lines. Daum collaborates with a large number of famous artists, such as Louis Majorelle, Salvador Dalí, Hilton Mac Connico, Elizabeth Garouste and Mattia Bonetti to create glass paste objects...

The chandelier is in the shape of a skyscraper, or a cascading fountain and the wrought iron has the original “antique pale green” patina. There are 4 « invisible » lights (bulbs) hidden in the glass body and each arm and light dish is equipped with lights also. About Paul Kiss Paul Kiss is a famous blacksmith from the Art Deco period, a contemporary of Edgar Brandt, Emile Robert, Raymond Subes, and Gilbert Poillerat. Muller Frères Art Deco Hanging Lamp 1920
Located in NANTES, FR
Art deco hanging lamp, circa 1920. Wrought iron frame. Decorated with ginkgo biloba leaves of very good workmanship. Basin in speckled glass paste. Signed on the bowl Muller Frères Luneville. Electrified and in perfect condition. Total height : 85 cm Total diameter : 54 cm Diameter of the bowl : 34 cm Weight : 8 kg Possible to reduce the height to adapt to the ceiling. You can contact me for more information and for the delivery costs. he Muller brothers, founders of the Muller Frères glassworks in Luneville, are French art glassmakers of the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods. The family includes nine brothers and one sister. They were all trained in the art of glassmaking. The best known are Eugène Muller (1883-1914), Désiré Muller (1877-1952) and Henri Muller (1868-1936). Although several works state that the Muller brothers, originally from Kalhausen (Moselle), settled in Lunéville in 1870, recent research has established that the older brothers of this family left the Moselle for Nancy for a very specific purpose: they were recruited in 1894 by Emile Gallé. Indeed, the master glassmaker from Nancy changed his manufacturing strategy and broke his commercial ties with the Meisenthal glassworks in 1894. That same year, Emile Gallé had his own glass furnaces built in Nancy and recruited workers: the older brothers of the Muller family, Emile, Henri and Désiré, were hired by Emile Gallé as clerks or engravers-decorators on glass. The older brothers of the Muller family had been trained in glassmaking at the Saint Louis crystal factory and at the Meisenthal glassworks alongside Désiré Christian. But in 1897, Henri Muller left Emile Gallé, perhaps taking with him some of his manufacturing secrets. He started a partnership with the Croismare glassworks. His production is in direct competition with those of Emile Gallé and the Daum factory. At that time, the glasses are blown in Croismare, in the glass factory called Hinzelin gobeleterie. A second glass factory was established in Lunéville itself in 1910. Both factories specialize in art glass. Numerous pieces were produced, of good technical quality and very similar to those produced in the Gallé factory in Nancy: vases, lamps and trinkets typically Art Nouveau. The production is most often in multi-layered glass, cut with a wheel or engraved with hydrofluoric acid with naturalistic representations. The most beautiful pieces are finished by fire polishing to give them a beautiful shine. From 1905 to 1908, Désiré and Eugène Muller were recruited by Léon Ledru, director of the decoration workshop of the Val-Saint-Lambert crystal works in Seraing, Belgium. Their work consisted of creating a series of decorative glassware in the Art Nouveau and Ecole de Nancy style. After the First World War, the Muller company became prosperous and the factory employed up to three hundred people. Production then evolved towards the Art Deco style, creating in the 1920s many ceiling lights in marmorated glass (glass of several colors, pigments being incorporated) or pieces of molded glass, the mounts being in brass, bronze or wrought iron. Toilet brushes...
