Literature; Arteluce catalogue from 1964, page 15 This lamp is checked in our own atelier, cleaned and is suitable for use in the USA. Born in Palermo in 1916, Domenico Parisi, known as Ico, grew into a prominent figure in Italian design. After moving to Como in 1925, he honed his skills at Studio Terragni, interacting with architectural luminaries. Discharged from the front in 1943, he resumed design work in Como. In 1947, he and Luisa Aiani opened La Ruota studio, a hub for design and art. Parisi's career flourished from the 1950s, collaborating with companies like Cassina. In the late 1960s, he explored new design realms with Contenitoriumani. His pinnacle came with "Operazione Arcevia" (1974-76), envisioning a utopian community. His graphic research followed, leaving an indelible mark on Italian design until his passing in 1996.
