About the Item

Kaare Klint - Model 4488 Bergere Chairs, 1931. A stunning pair of the iconic Bergere chairs by the father of the Danish Modern movement: Kaare Klint. The chairs were produced by master cabinetmakers Rud. Rasmussen. This model was Klint’s take on the Classic 18th century Bergere style of European cane-backed armchairs and is often referred to as the ‘English Chair’. These editions have frames made in African mahogany with decorative rosewood veneer inlays and solid rosewood shoes. The original cushions have been recovered in aniline cognac brown leather.
